My hardback copy has arrived while I was at TFN. It is glorious.
I am going to take my time reading it though. This deserves to be savoured.

Convinced the brother-in-law to order a copy. He was unaware Crash had returned.

Crash 2023 Annual has arrived. Is this the Kickstarter edition? I was under the impression the non-KS editions weren't being distributed until January.

Can't beat original hardware for the full effect. My BBC is still on my desk.

Was given a few classic games I used to have: Chase HQ, Operation Wolf/Thunderbolt, Daley Thomson's Decathalon, Renegade. Good times. Proper tapes.

I look forward to your exploration into getting 40 year old tapes to work. I had enough problems getting my old 5.25 inch discs to read. They needed individual cleaning with isopropyl to work, and the drive heads.

It will be a voyage of discovery. I have the new tapes the rebooted Crash magazine have put out. Now I can play them rather than just collect them.
I am told the Speccy has been tested.

That's a great Christmas (or boxing day) present!
Is it just the tape or does it have original packaging as well?

Both the computer and games have all original packaging and are tested. Nostalgia overload.
We are currently away and changing TV's so next week before I get it all set up at home. Very excited.

Have you got appropriate cables? Old computers and modern TVs sometimes aren't a good fit.

Looks like SCART might be the most straightforward connection - spectrumforeveryone.com/advice/beginners-guide/I would guess if this is a refurbished and tested +2 that it may have had any necessary modifications done for the video signal, and probably comes with the right cable.

Spectrum cable should go into the aerial socket. You'll then need to go into the analogue tuning for the TV and do a scan.
I don't think any Spectrum has an alternate video out
EDIT: I stand corrected on the link above
