Hope everybody has a good week this week.
July is only just around the corner. Where did this year go? It seems to have gone by quickly.

Yesterday was the Summer Solstice. I spent the day naked, worshipping the Sun.
Sadly now, the nights will be drawing longer and longer. And, to make matters worse, we got our first Christmas Card order at work this morning.

I like Star Bars. They sell them in my local Co-Op and I tend to get one whenever I'm round there.
EDIT: Why is there an Ebay advert at the top of this page for underskirts?

Let's just say the last of the back-up job options job-wise had the door closed to me today and leave it at that. I'll just have to make the best of my current short-term job. My agreement to learn to drive has smoothed over issues regarding whether I'd get offered something more permanent but there are no guarantees such a job exists.

I have received the formal offer of the permanent position at my current employers this morning, and given them my formal acceptance of the post this afternoon. So after about six months of limbo during the reorganisation I now have a permanent post again.
I think part of my may have forgotten how to not spend my time looking over my shoulder wondering about redundancy.

Good stuff, Kaptain. And Karla.
My foul mood due to learner driver agencies apparently not wanting to make money has been lifted by the arrival of the 86 TF movie soundtrack 20th anniversary version with the extra tracks. Fiver off amazon marketplace. Yay. I am rocking to the cheese right now.
Dare! Dare to believe you can surviiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiive!

I resisted the temptation to buy a Beachcomber in ASDA today. These 3 weeks of the year are tough for me when it comes to buying Transformers as I'll never know what the missus has already got me. Tomorrow marks the last 2 weeks of being 31, so I will make the most of it.
Cooking up a turkey stir-fry for tea tonight.

Well done on being nearly at the end of thy course Karla.
I take it that you are having trouble finding a driving instructor in Glasgow Ralph? I'm surprised by that, I would have thought they would have been rarer around here - considering that so many folk here drive as if they learned from playing Gran Tourismo or Spyhunter.

I shall ask my work colleagues. One of them had a very good one, it seems. He speaks very well of him, though I don't know if his range extends to Clydebank. Speaking of driving, today's lesson was a humbling experience. I was supposed to move on to a new manoeuvre today but I spent most of the time trying to get right what I should have gotten down on the last lesson and freaking out trying to pass between two parked cars while traffic is approaching ahead and behind and not crashing or being crashed into throughout. Eek. Not trying to put you off or anything- I just had a rough 'un. A surprising number of the items on my skills list went down- I'm actually worse at this than I was two weeks ago, according to it.
Everything Toy-fu related is coming to a head. In theory I only need a few more lessons and I should be test-worthy but it's by no means guaranteed (especially going by today's effort) and frankly, after my mum just revealed her extensive list of anxieties on the subject of driving, Birmingham and transporting a vanload of plastic robots therein, I'm starting to brick it about the whole shooting match.
I've never done anything remotely like this before. It's not quite my Everest, but it could be my Jumping Out Of A Plane. It terrifies me, but I think I can do it. No, forget that. I HAVE to do it. For the kids, man. I haven't accomplished a hell of a lot in my 27 years, but this could be the start of something big.
Or I'll cock it up and it won't, but fingers crossed, eh?

Anyone I have ever known who has taken up driving lessons past late teens has taken a while to do it. I don't expect to do it in any less than 4: probably longer.
Even if you don't pass in time for AA you will in time (which I now know may help job prospects) and I'm sure we'll figure out some way to get the Toy-Fu stuff down.

Darn it wish I could help on the driving front. All I do all day freakin' long is drive drive drive.
Think my longest drive 'On Red' (with blues lights on) was from Leeds to Newcastle on a transfer. I was knackered by the end of that one! Generally speaking though, I can drive for hours and be as fresh as the morning air at the end of it- just what I'm used to. Mad really, 'cos I actually HATE driving! And it took me ages to pass my test way back. Think I failed the bastard twice!

I've been sat at my computor all day a) doing my last (LAST) essay, and b) tryin' to find sumat nice for my parents to do on their 40th anniversary in a coupla weeks. The sun has been heating the room nicely (our attic conversion, yes we're that posh), and I'm one sweaty and smelly mother-Hubber, oh yeah baby. Drop a donkey at ten paces.

Oh, did I mention I got 80% on my last 2 essays? 80%!!!!!!!! I AM NOW A GOD! It was a joint mark for two reflectives (tutors don't mark them individualy, lazy so-and-sos), one on a traumatic abdominal injury, and the other on a traumatic head injury. After a refferal or two earlier in the course I had a point to prove to myself with these mothers. The head trauma reflective in partic was a Beast! It's 6 thousand words long! (there's no upper limit to reflectives). Read that tutor! KAAAPOWW!!!!
