Will Madman ever stop taking my money? I shall try and be restrained though, and wait for one of their sales.

I'm going to give this one a miss. "Headmasters" is a show I don't really have positive feelings about in honesty. If I bought it I almost certainly wouldn't watch it. However, the set itself will no doubt be very well presented - I have a couple of series sets from Madman and they do an absolutely bang-up job on them . If you wanted "Headmasters" then I'd say that the Madman version is the one to get.
If the packaging on these is up to Madman's normal standard I may very well consider getting their "Masterforce" release to replace my Metrodome copy with it's nasty card case.

Oh look at that, Victory has Zone included - take note Metrodome you pack of robbing bastards.
I'd be tempted but to be honest Headmasters was a bit of a chore to watch even with Star Dubs engaged.

Blasphemy! The holy Star Dubs are never a chore! I am shocked beyond belief! To the punishment room with you! And no sausages for a month! A month!
I will likely snag a copy of the Madman Headmasters set when next ebaying stuff.

Harumph. Headmasters is a poor show, no two ways about it. If it wasn't Star Dubbed I'd never have watched all of it.

Are just fine and enjoyable, as I said they let me sit through Headmasters without wanting to put a foot through the TV. They really come in to their own in Masterforce and Victory though.

BUT...BUT...
"It's Philip!"
"I fight like warriors should fight!"
"Now watch a man eating plant that can dance!"
"I'm the Decepticons ninja consultant!"
"Oh, Danny!"
"Come on, cassette robot! Snap out of it!"
"I shall call him New Soundwave."
"I'm the Decepticons space consultant. Huh."
"Don't cry! Billy is coming back!"
"Something strange has happened! Now there are two Optimus Primes!"
"No, Arcee! You stay here and look after Danny!"
"Meanwhile, on planet Sidnia!"
"The power pack! Ugh!"
"Fight on, Autobots! Fight on for peace throughout the universe!"

I'd have to side with Andy on this. The Star Dub prevents me from actually falling asleep during episodes of "Headmasters" (which I actually did do during an episode of the original language version). However, they aren't enough to make me actually _want_ to watch the episodes. Whereas with "Victory" the Dub actually means I can enjoy watching episodes that otherwise I find a chore to watch.
The "Star" effect does what it can for "Headmasters" but given the base from which it is working it can only do so much.

^Fixed subtitles is why it appeals to me to be honest. It's pretty cheap already which is why I may well pick it up when Madman have one of their sales. For Masterforce/Victory, I'm not so sure - despite the fact they are better shows. Depends on the extras I guess.

Notice how Ralph completely loses his brain about five posts up and declares himself the avatar of Star TV, and everyone else just carries on as if nothing has happened. I feel the effort should be applauded, at least.

Why is HeadMasters getting a bad rap? I just recently watched them and had a blast.
Maybe it's because anything with giant robots makes me giggle with glee. WHO KNOWS?
The VORTEX OF FRIENDSHIP (i can't remember the exact name) was incredible.

Just a bit leaden I find and is nowhere near as enjoyable as Masterforce or Victory.
High spot of Headmasters has to be the introduction of the Autobot Targetmasters - who are complete and utter bastards.

And remember, it's a bad idea to be Chromedome's friend! All his pals come to sticky ends! Most hilariously, the mate who was tied up, whipped, then turned into a walking bomb. In a kid's cartoon!
Great.

The postaman startled me this morning by turning up with my Madman DVD release of Headmasters. Hadn't expected that for another few weeks. It must have been sent by catapult.
According to the booklet, it has two sub tracks: one with westernised names, one with Japanese. Also: the holy star dub. That's my evening sorted out. And every evening thereafter. Forever.

The VORTEX OF FRIENDSHIP (i can't remember the exact name) was incredible. The main problem that I find with the series is that there is not a single character, that comes across in anyway as likable. No one stands out with any sort of personality. All the characters are as dull as dishwater. The Cybertron Headmasters, the guys you are supposed to root for, as the biggest arrogant most generic group of characters I have ever saw in any cartoon. It is some piece of writing when you can make the Targetmasters come across as bigger pricks than the title characters. I have watched the series a couple of times, but I always loose interest after they destroy Cybertron, which I still cannot fathom the point off. I find the series just becomes directionless, after they take away the key storyline for the past 3 years upto that point. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr headmasters makes me angry. I have been working my through Masterforce again recently, which greatness adds to my anger of Headmasters.

Better sub tracks than Headmasters will probably make me rebuy Headmasters. New Subs and the star dub will get me to buy the next two madman releases.

I never owned the Metrodome HM so can't really comment on it. The Madman set is nicely packaged with a fun cover and indestructable plastic case. It has some problems though. The booklet lists the episodes but does not say which episodes are on which discs. Neither do the discs. When you look at the menu screens, episodes are indicated purely by a random screen shot and a number, ie 1, 2, 3, etc, which doesn't help much either.
Watched some episodes on disc 1 last night. Ah, so nice to see the Star Dubs on the telly. Irritated though that the bumpers and 'next time' trailers are strangely absent on the episodes themselves.

EDIT: The adbot is currently showing an ad for 'sex and love addiction'! WTF?!
EDIT2: Ah, Headmasters. I get it now. Filthy, filthy adbot!
