I am thankful that I managed to get this week off work. Today and tomorrow I'm at home, then Tuesday evening I'm swanning off to see my parents. It is also my mum's birthday! (Three days after mine!)
The hangover of doom was on Sunday actually. For some reason the organisers decided that what everyone REALLY needed was an EXTRA LOUD live rock concert at 10.30am. And Toy Fu was right next to the stage, and the speakers at volume 11!

Maybe it was to help people wake up a bit more . Glad to hear that Toy Fu did really well though. ===KEN

Also the chorus of Dare is too high for fanboys to sing along to.

Nice haul, Blueshift. Is the Birthday Marmite a TF stand-in like the tin of sweetcorn was?

Not had a hangover but rather woke up this morning feeling like I could have another few hours in bed. I woke up at 5.30 Sunday morning, couldn't get back to sleep and so decided to get up and have a little walk around the area of Birmingham where the hotel was. Then I attended the Sunday part of the convention before it was time to leave. My bus bus set off at 8.45pm and dropped me back off in Leicester an hour later whereupon a pre-booked taxi was waiting for me to take me back home. It was just gone 10.15pm when I finally returned home and I was shattered. I felt even worse when I remembered that I had a 6am start at work the following morning. Nevertheless, I turned up for work on time but was virtually sleepwalking through my shift.

I'm back, baby. Nearly an eighth of a tonne lighter, somewhat richer, and flushed with success. For once the entire Scots crew got home without incident!

I hope everyone who went to AA had a great time and didn't spend *too* much money... (though I see from the acquisitions thread that a few might have done!)
I had a very short, but very nice weekend away. And I even picked up a nifty wee ROTF student diary at the airport! It's all in Italian though.
Are there any decent online galleries of AA?

My voice is almost gone from talking so much at the weekend. On Sunday night I actually reached the point when I couldn't drink alcohol anymore. Still pretty knackered and it's pissing with rain so just farting about online and compiling my AA vids.

I am still very tired and my legs, feet and especially back are still killing me. It took ages to fit everything into the car on Sunday night, we didn't get to my brother's in Worcester to pick up the other car until gone ten and got home at nearly two, then had to unload. I spent all day yesterday shifting and sorting boxes. Still, great weekend. It was the first time that I've been able to stay overnight at AA to socialise with other Hubbers, which contributed to what I thought was the best one yet.

By far the most sociable event Transformers related so far. Nice to hook up with some Hubbers I have not seen for (in some cases) several years and to meet others for the first time. The Moonbase 2 lot are a great bunch too. Just great fun.
Bloody knackered though. Wish I had tomorrow off too!

Yeah, I don't think I'd seen Nick R since the last Transforce. (Technically I didn't speak to him through the whole of this convention. We spoke on Friday night and didn't speak again until Sunday evening, thanks to the seating issue on Saturday and him being so popular all weekend that I couldn't spare enough time away from my stall to queue - I wasn't able to get a Shockwave sketch off him. ) It's a pity I didn't get to meet Hubbers I hadn't met before. Or rather, it's a pity I didn't realise I'd met them, as it's likely I met them whilst serving them. At least I got to speak to Ian and Gregg - I didn't get the chance to meet Dan Gilvezan last year. Another benefit of a full weekend, I think - more time to do things. I still haven't met come comic artists who've now been to two or three events, though!

I am an extremely zonked person. I've lost a fair bit of my voice as well, and my feet are alternately killing me and completely numb. I shambled through a working day today strongly resembling a person who was asleep but still moving.
The convention was very much worth the fall-out though - it was the most sociable Transformers convention I have ever been to. I don't think I have chatted to so many different folk in one weekend in a very long time. The atmosphere was absolutely fantastic - with a real buzz that I think was helped a lot by the two-day format.
It was great to see a load of TMUK/Hub folk I haven't met before, and to see some face I haven't seen in a few years.
I may be a worn out shambling wreck at the moment but I don't begrudge it one bot - it was a price well worth paying for such a good fun experience.

I'm still pretty hyped with it all. Wish I did not have work tomorrow. Ironic as in a week or two that won't be a problem any more, but I wish I could stay in this mood a bit longer!

Yeah, the buzz has tended to linger. Although I was completely zombified today, and not that much good to man or beast, I am still in a surprisingly good mood considering that it was my first working day in the week.

I enjoyed it so much that I was sad to leave the venue at the end of Sunday. This may sound a little odd but, when I left the doors of the hotel on Sunday night I felt like I was leaving behind something very dear to me. After leaving I had a quick look around Birmingham before going for my bus knowing that I wouldn't be coming back again for another year despite only living 100 mile away.
