Garry Chalk voicing a character on Primus? Spooksome.

Oi, The New Adventures of He-Man was ace! Have you seen it recently? It really has not aged well. I too thought it was ace until I picked up the DVD's and then the full horror was mine. I quickly got rid of them! -Ralph

I never liked it at all. I remember it being on ITV during the summer holidays from school. Most of the kids shows they showed in this slot were rubbish and this one was no exception. I just didn't like the change in character designs from the original and the change to a more futuristic Star Wars type setting.

The New Adventures definately has flaws..don't get me started. But to be fair..its actually not bad...I mean...its got continuity of a sort...and Skeletor is HILARIOUS. I'd watch the show just for him. As per usual He-Man is his boring, do-goodery, god moding sterotype..meh...but in ways its definately an improvement over the original...in some ways...

And now for some news ... A comic strip about the dangers of fireworks causes outrage and Channel 4 goes on air!

When Saturday morning shows such as Going Live wasn't on we had fill-in shows like Parallel 9, The 8.15 From Manchester and this one - On The Waterfront en.wikipedia.org/wiki/On_the_Waterfront_(TV_series)According to the Wikipedia entry Dr Who writer Russell T Davis had a hand in writing a little segment for this show.

8.15 to Manchester was poo, but I really really liked Parallel 9 the best of all those morning style programmes. I really miss that format, you know

The only thing I remember from the 8.15 from Manchester was a game called Catch the Rat! As for Parallel 9 I think that was the one where they had an old bloke with a grey beard in the first series before replacing the actor playing the character with a much younger bloke.

I used to enjoy this when I was younger, but it is another cartoon which hasn't aged well at all.

You're right - it hasn't aged too well. I brought the series on DVD recently and it took me months just to watch the 13 episodes on it because it was so badly written! Anyway, onto my choice for today and we have another 80's cartoon with a memorable theme tune - sort of!

I've just thought of this. When we were kids our parents were always telling us to eat our greens and then the Poddington Peas cartoon came up and that presumably stopped us from wanting to eat our greens. Why? Because we didn't want to eat strange green creatures with long spindly legs, a head full of blonde hair, a big fat pea that was always gorging on jam tarts etc, etc, etc!

A British kids show that was an institution in this country for almost twenty years.

What do you get when you try and bring an old cartoon up to date? Answer: Popeye & Son!

I can't actually remember whether I liked it or not. I know I used to watch it though but then, I used to watch a number of shows that I hated! I think I must have been quite a mixed up kid!
Anyway, here's another one that I've only just thought of. It was a schools show with a theme tune that scared the shit out of me when I was a kid!
