Stormy weather all day, the Uni building was shaking quite violently. By the time I had walked home, I was soaked through and had to change my full set of clothing. I had just done this when the rain finally stopped. I shook my fist at the sky.

Yep, it's the end of the world out there at the mo here in God's Country (Yorkshire). Expecting a busy weekend!

Getting into and out of uni was quite an experience today. Glad I wasn't on a double decker.
EDIT: Not to be contradictory, Shockprowl, but I think you'll find the Scottish Highlands are God's Country. In weather like this, God can have them.

I have been fortunate so far today. I was in the office until quarter to four when the worst of the weather was going on. I was briefly exposed to the elements whilst dashing down to the train station, but things had calmed down a bit in Falkirk. The wind is getting up a bit now, fortunately though I am safely inside where I will remain until tomorrow morning. Glad I wasn't out in the worst of it though, it was rattling off our building like someone was throwing stones this afternoon.
Time for a nice cup of tea and a bit of french bread whilst I decide what to have for my dinner.

The wind got up again here about half-past eleven last night. So by the time I went to bed it was battering the house enough that the dormer was shaking. Unfortunately the dormer is attached to my bedroom... In that sort of weather it always seems to be worth my while taking a good book and a cup of tea up with me when I turn in.

It was howling round the Death Fortress last night. V surprised to get up this morning and not find the TV aerial on the lawn.

It was like the end of the world in the libray today. Bits of it had holes in it and it was a tad nippy. The walk-back in the rain in my spaced-out post-essay state was a bit surreal.

We had paddling pools set up in the outdoor toys section because the wind had buckled one of the roof slats and jammed it open so the rain could pour through. The whole section was cordoned off yesterday, I heard.

I was planning to nip out myself this afternoon. But seeing as it started to rain I decided to stay put. Glad I had gone out for my walk first thing .

That wind out there is so cold I went out for a run and came back with an ice cream headache. Even my fillings are sore.

Outside it is quite bright, Though I do not see a cockfight. Which is for the best, We don't need that in the West. I don't need that near my abode, But nearby lurks the mutant toad.

The wind today has been shite, You could tie some string to a breeze block and fly it like a kite. Every step I tried to make I always missed, I've never walked this bad since I was last pissed.

I found the blades from Jonathan's windmill down the bottom of the garden. Hunting found the rest of it.

We've got a wooden duck on a stick out the back. Probably. It may be in Norway by now.

At around 4pm the sky suddenly darkened and an almighty storm began, for over an hour. It was like the end of the world: heavy rain, hail, thunder that was felt right down to the toes with sheet and fork lightning. A proper, good quality storm. Alas, I found myself hopping from shelter within doorways by folk who ducked into them for a fag without inquiring as to whether the bloke who was already there minded sharing his confined space with smoke.
Amusingly, despite the apocalyptic weather (the drains had overflowed and Buchanan St had become a small riverr), one of the drones-with-clipboard-that-wants-you-to-donate-to-charity just would not give up and tried in vain to stop folk. It was both sad and funny to watch.

Near to my workplace is a railway bridge that we have to walk underneath en route to catch the bus back home and when its raining the road underneath this bridge becomes flooded. Today after work it was raining and the road looked like a lake under the bridge. One of my workmates thought of the good idea of standing under the bridge to get out of the rain - only to get soaked when a car drove through the lake of water at top speed.

More bad weather today. The road underneath the bridge near my workplace was flooded again but this time no pedestrian was soaked by a passing car. Why? Because there were too local bobbies standing underneath the bridge inspecting the flood. I considered walking past them and saying 'Evening all' but didn't.

Wind was so bad on Sunday, that when we took Piglet out for a walk, she was blown over! Poor little squish-bag! She was ok though, just looked abit puzzled.

Does anyone else walk around with their jacket inside out above their heads when it's really windy?
