Yaddle is a council member in episode 1 But not a romantic partner for Yoda? I've read several web pages that claimed she is/was, though Wookieepedia has nothing to say on the matter. I have suspicions that it's AI-generated fan fiction.

Hahaha! All right, I'll give you that. Very good. You can thank Mrs Shocks for that one, she stumbled across it on the internet somewhere. No idea what she was actually looking for, she has no particular interest in Star Wars. It is really funny. And works best when seen written.

Incidentally, I've just learned that Yoda supposedly has a companion called Minch Yaddle. Is this canon or fanon? Companion in the sense that they appear to be the same species. Nothing more than that. Any implication that Grogu is their illigetimate offspring is speculative.

Watched the start of Ashoka. Mixed feelings. The show itself I really enjoyed. The lead character is dullness personified though. Er. Thankfully, it's an ensemble show.

Not keen on the casting of {spoiler}Ezra, Hera and Sabine. Had these actors even watched Rebels? . performances from supporting cast a bit unconvincing. Ahsoka is meant to be boring at this point. The tragedy and trauma of the clone wars and living in hiding through the Empire has made her a closed book. Let's see if her experiences in starring in this {spoiler}Rebels Series 5 can open her up. All in, is this just fan service or will it become a legitimate series?

I just find the perforance style for Ashoka boring. I wasn't exactly champing at the bit for her to get her own show after her zzzzz appearances in Mando and Boba.
I have seen very little Clone Wars and none of Rebels so have no prior attachment to the character.
I did, however, rather enjoy the first two episodes of the Ashoka show as there was plenty going on, it was pacy and fun. I just hope the plot remains tight. No sign of steaming bloat as yet.

Found the first episode a slog to get through with boring characters, bored actors and a dull, by the numbers script which just had a flatness to it all. The second episode was better so will give #3 a go. The best character so far is the bearded not-Jedi bloke who looks, sounds and talks like he has stepped straight out of a Game of Thrones episode.
Is anyone *not* a Mandolorian or connected person these days??

I have mixed feelings. Spoiler Ashoka is pretty perfect in some ways. Obviously Feloni scripting this means you expect her dialogue to be right, but Dawson really nails the delivery. But at the same time, its the perfect delivery of a some what disillusioned Ashoka. And in context thats appropriate, shes older and been fighting for 25-30 years.
But as a viewer Im missing fun Ashoka.
Some what similar feelings about Sabine though to a lesser extent.
Hera is more off, shes less.... cool.. than she should be. Maybe its due to working in a terrible bureacuracy and being a Mum. Whatever something isnt quite right.
Also despite being voiced by a white woman (I think) her character always had an element of first/second generation immigrant to it. I always imagined that in live action she would be played by a person of colour. So maybe thats throwing me off.
Chopper has not killed nearly enough people yet. I mean he tried, but I didnt feel he was fully commited to his genocide. And there was absolutely no suggestion that he tried killing Jason. Im not sure thats in character or not. Heras child, so protective, but competition for Heras attention.
I just dont know.
Pacing and plot are generally fine, though maybe they should be a little further along by the end of episode 3.
More generally, as much as Im enjoying it, I cant stop feeling I would be enjoying it more as an animated show (in The Clone Wars style) as characters originating in animation going to live action is always going to be a little bumpy (Those Old Scientists aside) and translating Ashokas force powers to live action has required some slower pacing already. So yeah. Really enjoying, but various things dont quite feel right. Yet.

Given how the pair of them seem on the surface of things a pretty cliched pair of fallen Jedi the actors are really making the most of their job. Between the gravitas he brings and the slightly manic, broken look of his apprentice they're the most watchable performances in the show for me.
I hope there's more to them than there seems, would be disappointing if they were just some random Sith but I have a bit of faith in Filoni. The fact that the apprentice (her name eludes me) has some obvious padawan stylings hints that there's more of a story there.

I'm finding it a bit meh. The action is decent but I think the show does spend far too much time on fan service. I'm sure the writers would say it's just background detail, but from watching a couple of YouTube videos, the density of nods and interconnectedness can only have distracted and, given that there's some pretty clunky plotholes (things that seem less acceptable to me as a viewer of a prestige live acton show than they are when watching 10 year old Star Wars animation that I didn't watch at the time), it seems like they should have been concentrating on the matter at hand.
Despite just being a voice, Tennant is out-acting most of the cast. I agree that Ray Stevenson is by far the next best performer and, by the limited nature of Tennant's role, by far and away the most compelling character. I loved Stevenson in Rome and his performance here just emphasises what a loss his death is.

Tennant is in this??
I'm finding the whole thing to be very flat and boring really. And I don't recognise the specifics but can tell their is a lot of fan service in this and it isn't helping to tell the story to a more general audience.

I think its less fan service more that its actually Rebels Season 5 pretending to be season 1 of a new show.

Tennant is great but he does not really try to disguise he voice when doing voice work. Star Wars, TMNT, Duck Tales (and a bunch Im certain Im missing) its always clearly him.

Curious... Disney+ banner ad for Ahsoka states 'new part every Wednesday', but for other series it states 'new episode'. I wonder why they've made a specific distinction here?

Wasn't it the same with Mando? I think they just want to sound vaguely portentous.
