This greatly saddens me. He was a fine, fine conceptual artist. He will be much missed. Karl

This made me sad earlier today as well. Hard to explain to the non-Star Wars-viewing girlfriend, but his designs were so important to those films and the whole world-building aspect which had me hooked so young.

I'm not sure if the makers of Star Wars Kinect are being ironic or not.

And yet the internet is on fire as nerds rage about how this has ruined Star Wars forever. Idiots. It's just a minigame within a bigger video game for kids, not a revision to the existing films, etc, FFS!

And yet the internet is on fire as nerds rage about how this has ruined Star Wars forever. And that is why I have stopped paying much attention to fanrage these days. I am often dimly aware of its presence, but mostly as a sort of angry buzzing sound like a patrolling wasp. It rarely reflects the views of the wider base of people who actually experience a thing and so seems somehow futile, especially when - like here - it is directed at something way off to the side of a franchise. It is like getting angry because somewhere in the world a set of bubblegum cards exist with spelling errors in them or something. Also, why shouldn't there be casual gamer type stuff for Star Wars - given that the whole point is supposed to be that it is a mass-appeal sort of affair it seems the ideal thing to have. Karl

Metro had a review of Kinect Star Wars today.... It could be summarised as that most of the game was rubbish, except for the dancing mini-game which they felt was a silly idea but at least it showed a sense of humour and was an entertainingly silly idea....

Burns, Turnbull & Nick are watching SW Prequels on BD. The fight does not go well and the Vodka was cracked open early. For more see Twitter and FB.

From Andu: @philip_ayres @stardubbing @toyfu2012 just started. Public transport fail for nick. Just on the title crawl now. A nick related travel disaster? That's never happened before.

Sadly yes, actually. I remember AOTC being at least watchable with a decent last act but found it pretty dull now. Oh well!
I now feel strangely compelled to give the Clone Wars CG show a try now though.

True. And all I have seen of the CG Clone Wars is the movie that sets it up so I have no opinion of the show at all...

Clones was definitely the worst of the three films.
The Phantom Menace was not utterly dreadful, but Jake Lloyd killed every scene he was in. Sith was a just a bit dull.
More detailed thoughts in Stardub 2.9.
