I have this thing on my cable tv. I have, as yet, opted not to watch it. I can only shudder to think what the STV equivalent of a US UHF station looks like...

There was a guy on who makes '3d cakes' for a living. He banged on about how he was going to make a special 'never done before cake to represent old Edinburgh'. We saw the cake interior being made. Looked not too tasty. Then the full cake was revealed.
A cake in the shape of one of the fucking trams. As one the presenters mentally jizzed all over it.
Also it featured 'local ads' yet not one was a static slightly out of focus picture against a bright yellow (or red) card advertising a local Indian restaurant while twinkly music and an over-earnest man talked over it about how close it is to the bus stops. Disgraceful.

Aren't all cakes 3D, by virtue of not being flat two-dimensional structures and having, you know, a depth axis to go with their length and width axes? Also, how are the Trams, which are new - and also located in the New Town, supposed to properly reflect old Edinburgh where they do not run?

You can't have your cake and eat it you know!
I haven't ventured to try the Glasgow channel either although I have seen it scooting past in the higher numbers of the TV guide.

It was awful, plus the vox pop stuff with some of the folks in Edinburgh was so painful it was hilarious.

Found out Attack on titan was available on netflix. 25 episodes watched in 3 days.
I'd been told it was good, but I wasn't expecting to be sucked in so completely.

Over the past few days I have been watching Steven Universe. There were quite a few people telling me to, which is good as the first dozen or so episodes are pretty terrible (they're only 10 mins long though). After a certain point though it gets genuinely amazing.
Also it is pretty much a Rock Lords cartoon (but uh, done well)

Atlantis had it's last episode on Saturday.
Now you can tell this was cancelled so late in the production they couldn't rewrite it. It ends with Jason getting ready to head to Colchis on a legendary quest.
Dreadful show.

Agreed, and yet you still watched it!
At least they showed a double episode last night to stop it spoiling the fun next Saturday

Oh I only watched bits of it and the last episode.
Damned awful show, unlike Merlin which did improve and then serve up a turd with the final episode.

I struggled through the first series of Atlantis and begrudgingly the first half of the second because Mrs P wanted to. But knowing it had quite rightly been binned I drew the line at these last few.
Thing is what do we get next? Robin Hood, Merlin, Atlantis... What fits that mould. Didn't I hear a while ago there's a new attempt at Ivanhoe in the works? Presumably not starring William Russell. I'm surprised given the fact they're basically trying to emulate Doctor Who's success and that super heroes are the in thing that they haven't tried to take that heroic figure stereotype and apply it to a pulp character from the 40s or 50s. Have a go at Flash Gordon, or Dick Tracey. Conan even. I'd watch a nicely stylised reboot of something from that era. Dynamite comics have made an entire business out of doing that and the beeb made it work with Musketeers.

Well there was a Flash Gordon show on SciFi a few years ago that lasted a series, and they tried a pilot of The Phantom, but I have not managed to see that.
A nice pulpy Flash Gordon would be welcome.
Yeah I had heard the Ivanhoe rumours but not much since it was discussed.

I dumped Atlantis after one episode. Everything about it was bad, as I recall. Exact opposite of The Musketeers. Whoever made that should make more stuff.

Having looked, I see the guy that originated the musketeers for the BBC is also responsible for Primeval and the Survivors reboot.
Bizarre pedigree. Wikipedia also claims the musketeers started out headed for the slot Atlantis took.
Today I will mostly be pushing Dick Barton Special Agent as a new Saturday tea time show. Over the top action adventure with a spy slant and larger than life baddies. Perfect. Why is no one doing this?

"Saturday tea time show", I like that. That slot varies for us 'cos of my shifts, but I've successfully pushed a golden oldie onto Mrs Shocks...
COMPLETE COLUMBO BOX SET!!!!!
So... many... disks...
We begin- TONIGHT!!!
Edit: oh, not tonight 'cos we're watching Gotham on +24 'cos I was working last night.
We begin- TOMORROW!!!

From one cop to another then :-)
Just finished catching up with Gotham myself. Made for a good double-bill with Flash. But the question is, now that Arrow has finished for the season, what am I to do on Thursday evening for my notBatman fun?
