Series 1-3 of Doctor Who acquired on Blu-ray. Not intending to watch them in order. Saw 'Rose' and 'Dalek' last night. Watching 'Blink' tonight. Probably then do the 2-parters.
There's something else I'm not watching in order, which may be more of an issue as it's something I haven't watched before in the correct order: Saw on TV and then acquired on Blu-ray the film 'Split'. Now acquired the sequel, 'Glass'. 'Split' was fine as a standalone. Hoping 'Glass' will make sense as a follow-on, without having seen the first film in the trilogy, 'Unbreakable'. We shall see.

Glass was a very poor conclusion to the trilogy.

Not expecting it be as good as 'Split', but need to see what happens next to its characters.

Glass was a very poor conclusion to the trilogy. I thought it was all right. Guess I should seek out Unbreakable at some point. Martin

Unbreakable is the best of the 3 by far.
Glass was turgid shite and the ending is ludicrous.

Unbreakable is a superb film.
Not seen Glass.
What the heck is 'Split'?! Never heard of it!

SURPRISE TRILOGY

What the heck is 'Split'?! Never heard of it! 'Split' is a horror/thriller in which James McAvoy (Professor X in the later X-Men films) plays a kidnapper who flips between a dozen different distinct recurring personalities ranging from a 9-year-old boy to a lady called Patricia to a Mr Hyde-type creature, as well as his original real personality. Amazing acting range. I've seen it a few times now, since I saw McAvoy live on stage in Cyrano de Bergerac (my last theatre visit before lockdown). Anya Taylor-Joy (Magik in the upcoming 'New Mutants') is also impressive as his resourceful kidnap victim, who develops different relationships with McAvoy's different personalities. There's an end-credit sequence a bit like the Tony Stark appearance at the end of 'The Incredible Hulk', in which Bruce Willis pops up and randomly establishes that the film is set in the same universe as 'Unbreakable'. Then all the cast members from 'Unbreakable' and 'Split' come together in 'Glass'. I will see 'Unbreakable' at some point, but I'll be pleasantly surprised if it contains any performances as mind-blowing as McAvoy in 'Split'. Martin

Yes, catching people off-guard with the old 'wait-16-years-between-parts-1-and-2' ploy. Martin

Ahhh, I see, thank you, Martin. That makes sense. I'll have to see Split stat. McAvoy is a tremendous actor.

Not had Council TV for many years so channel hopped and came across an episode of SeaQuest DSV. It was hypnotic in how bad it was (not seen this show since back in the day). Low production values too. It certainly show up how well made the 90's Star Trek shows were, for one thing.

Mortimer & Whitehouse: Gone Fishing, on both BBC2 (new series) and Dave (repeats).
The most laid-back and good-natured banter show on telly.

Just re-watched the BBC 2000 'Gormenghast' mini-series on Blu-ray. Very much a 12-rated mix of 'Hamlet', 'Game of Thrones' and 'Phantom of the Opera'. Good stuff.

I saw the first episode on broadcast and enjoyed it, missed the second and struggled to get in to the third.
The whole thing is sitting here on shiny disc and has never been watched.

Oh. I thought you meant two TVs side by side.
I liked Supergirl 5. Good series. That's the only arrowverse show I've watched from the start. Apart from Batwoman. I keep thinking I ought to have a go with Flash.

'The Boys' is just 8 episodes. That's a 2-day job. Finished. That was pretty awesome. Not usually susceptible to advertising, but hadn't known anything about it a week ago, saw the season 2 trailer in the cinema on Friday, popped into HMV and bought season 1 on Blu-ray yesterday, finished watching it tonight. Next! Martin
