Still can't work out where Fury's LMD came from in the final fight. Was he hiding it in a subspace pocket under his fake eye???
Overall, glad to have seen it. The standout performance was Sandra Hess as Viper, who seemed to be channelling Xenia Onatopp from Goldeneye while everyone else in the cast was going for grim and brooding. I'm glad she escaped at the end, and admire the makers' optimism for ending the film as if there was going to be a sequel or regular TV series coming on the back of it.
The Hoff did a good job of portraying Fury as he appears in the comics. But I don't think he'd have worked as part of the MCU.
At the end of the day, it was a low-budget TV movie. I've seen worse.

Got another free trial month on Amazon Prime. Giving 'The Wheel of Time' a go.
Sticking with 'Around the World in 80 Days' on BBC1, since it's more than half way through. It's OK!

Martin I’m enjoying Wheel of Time so far, but I definitely want to hear what you have to say. Probably checking out some Columbo tonight.

I’m enjoying Wheel of Time so far, but I definitely want to hear what you have to say. Two episodes in. The younger cast have yet to impress me, but I've always been a Rosamund Pike fan and I'll watch it as long as she's in it! And the landscape/scenery is great. Martin

Martin Rosamund Pike is definitely bringing her A-game, her and Daniel Hennessy who plays Lan. The kids get better, but I think it ironically takes them getting separated from RP that does it.

WoT was decent, definitely carried by RP.
Whatever you do, don't get tempted to read the books. Or stop after about 3, which to be fair, I enjoyed, and skip to the last couple.

He does this in his autobiography. Whole chapters made up of anecdotes prefixed with a note to say one of them is made up. But then he doesn't explain which one it is.

Yeah, I recognised one of last night's stories from the autobiography. David Mitchell and co. apparently hadn't read it at the time of filming. Martin

Saw it live back in the day. Amazing. According to his original character bio, Kup is Falstaff to Hot Rod's Prince Hal. www.ntfa.net/universe/english/index.php?act=view&char=KupThis is the play being referenced. Fans must watch it and decide whether they agree with the comparison! Martin

Trouble is, the only Falstaff I can think of is Orson Welles as playing in 'The Chimes of Midnight' more than anything else, but I love the description of Hot Rod as Prince Hal.

I finished watching The Wheel of Time. It was not so good as to be sublime.
It was very well made, but like many things, It took too much plot from 'The Lord of the Rings'.
(Though I really do like That Rosamund Pike.)

This week I am mostly watching (again) the new-to-Blu-ray time-travel ghost movie 'Last Night in Soho', one of the best films of 2021, with its 90 minutes of extras and two full-length audio commentaries.

Tokyo Drift time.
For all the mad efforts to make this fit as film 7 in the series the craziest thing about it is that Lucas Black was cast as a high schooler in 2006 when he was already the oldest 24 year old I've ever seen.

Tomorrow I plan to have a lazy afternoon watching The Hound of the Baskervilles with Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee, on Film4 at 1.05pm Cushing is a fine Holmes, possibly the second best after Brett, but I'm not a fan of how Hammer mangled the plot. Martin
