Was with my nieces at the weekend, which meant I watched the films 'Storks' and 'Robin Hood' (the animated Disney classic with animals), and also they're now into Friends and The Simpsons.
Could have been worse.
After they went to bed I watched the first two episodes of 'Obi-Wan' on Disney+. It was decent enough.

Been having another Veronica Mars rewatch after I noticed amazon US has season 4. Utterly horrified to find the first season is 18 years old. 18 *weeps* This has honestly shocked me more than any "OMG Such a Transformer is X years old" realisation.
I'd also forgotten the quality of casting on the show. The sheer volume of series regulars, reocurring and guest stars that went on to big things is unreal.

Well that was unexpected. Quite liked it.
The show is well worth a watch. The first season in particular might be my favourite season of non sci-fi/fantasy TV. Even with genre shows included, its right near the top.
And its not one of those shows were people say to get past the first few episodes and then it gets good. The pilot nails it, if you dont like it you only waste 40 minutes of your life.

So, Witch from Mercury finale has been watched. No spoilers, but I am pretty satisfied with it. Does it gives the audience everything they want. No, but I think it gives us what we _need_. I'm calling it landing stuck as far as I am concerned.
I'm so glad Gwitch exists - it set out to do something a bit different to other Gundam shows, to carve out its own identity. And I think it succeeded really well.
I'm going to miss the characters, but I think the story did well by them and I'm glad to have had these 25 episodes to spend in their company. It's been sad, awful, charming and heartwarming in equal measure. Thanks for the memories Gwitch

Still enjoying some old Summer Wine eps at the moment. I like looking up listings on the genome project when watching old TV to put them in context. Turns out Season 6 ep 1 was broadcast post-watershed at 9.25pm on the same night Castrovalva part 1 went out at 6.55. 2nd Jan '82. Doctor Who was followed by The Rockford Files.

which, iirc, finished as a series early leaving a gap in the schedules which was filled by Doctor Who and the Monsters

Just watched Avatar (the Cameron movie, not the cartoon) for the first time, kicking myself for not having seen it a) sooner and b) on the big screen. Fantastic movie! Two hours and forty five minutes just flew by. Should never have listened to the nay-sayers, Cameron knows what he's doing with this kind of thing.
Also learned while watching it that apparently this film is huge among kids my daughter's age? (good for them!)

As we were at Cranforth train station and saw the exhibition there, the time had finally come to see 'Brief Encounter'. One of those very famous films I had not seen. It's excellent!

Halfway through YEARS AND YEARS, an RTD drama from 2019 that bombed so hard it didn't get enough viewers to be put forward for Bafta noms. It's good! Scarily ahead of its time.
I thought it was a BBC show, but came across it on...Disney Plus.

Credible enough to be very disturbing to watch - and I'd be inclined to say that it looks scarily prescient in hindsight. (Ending to the first episode quite literally gave me the shakes when I saw it. A kind of very real terror that I don't usually get from television). Good to hear that it is available to be watched somewhere - it deserves to be better remembered. Karl

I remember the adverts for it, but the premise scared me too much so I didn't watch it.

Currently watching Titans Season 3. A rather mixed experience...it's a competent cast, in something that could be a competent superhero story if it wasn't so determined to be grim and gritty. It is a bit frustrating, they have all the parts in place to make a good solid Teen Titans adaptation, but their mistaking "grown-up" for "miserable and unpleasant" every few scenes works against that.

I've watched the first two sessions of that. Three and four are on the list. I quite enjoyed it, but not enough to rush into the third.

Got my offline viewing sorted for the next several months. Scored a mix 35 Blu ray/Steelbooks/4k films for £20 (well 34 and Hansel and Gretel on DVD). Most are unsold stock or damaged cases.
Completely random assortment, but stuff I wanted on disc. A couple of upgrades and a couple I just fancied watching.
The biggest result, I finally own Hudson Hawk.
In addition to those also got GOTG Awesome Mix Vol 1 Steelbook, I did not know that was a thing, and a ROTF Bumblebee projection watch, I think unused.

Correction to previous post: It was actually Season 4 of Titans, the final season that I was watching.
Having reached the end of it I'm a bit better disposed towards it than I was. I still think it is still to casual about graphic violence - it falls on the wrong side of the "graphic for the sake of it" line for me, unlike Shin Kamen Rider the blood doesn't feel like it is there to support a particular element of the narrative, it feels more like it is just there as a "this is edgy and mature".
On the other hand I do like that the show tries to engage with the "should superheroes be setting out to use lethal force". I'm not sure that it is entirely successful, and I think they cop-out on committing to an answer at the end. I think I prefer that to the approach of some of the Disney Marvel stuff of "as long as the villains soldier's wear masks so we can't see their faces you can slaughter with impunity"...
All that said, I do like the sense of camaderie that the cast project - there is a strong sense of Found Family to the show - which is very much a New Teen Titans hallmark for me. And the last major scenes of the season I thought delivered a really nice sense of closure to the show. (although the few second bonus last scene at the start of the credits made me laugh for all the wrong reasons).
I've had a slightly frustrating experience with Titans, but I have liked the cast and I think they've managed a good dismount here.

Started on IT'S A SIN. A channel 4 show which I found on...Disney Plus.
One episode in. Not sure it's my cup of tea but the acting is top-notch so I will oersit.
Between this and YEARS AND YEARS, I am fast becoming convinced that Lydia West is a future Doctor Who in waiting though.

Hadn't seen THE SIX MILLION DOLLAR MAN before outside of clips. It is on Council TV. Missed the start so watching S2. Maybe S1 was amazing and then it went downhill but this is mostly terrible.
The episode where a mad astronaut (William Shatner) gained mind power (lots of crash-zooms) and wanted to take dolphins into space was very entertaining though.
