Is anyone interested in pitching in and putting something together for AA 2008?
Ideas and the like to be shared here. I'm more than happy to lend my computer skills in assembling the fanzine.

Splendid news.
Now Ralph and a few of us have been banging on about an idea, I shan't go into it just yet but similar to the Ark mag it would be a self-contained affair concentrating on one story.
Though I think an anthology magazine similar to the Transforce 2001/Queen is Dead magazines would also be a welcome addition.

As mentioned on the egroup I'm in. The AA 2005 mag was exactly the kick up the bum I needed to get the first part of Butterflies and Hurricanes out there - I'm hoping AA 2008 can do the same.

The more the merrier. For one thing, it allows folk greater leeway to contribute as much/little as they are able around Real Life. We had a small team on the AA 2006 mags and it almost killed us. Never again would I do it with such a small team.
EDIT: By that I mean, that pulling together mags like these on a team of 5 is just too time consuming and mind-melting.

Good to see some folks rallying to the cause and I agree it was a bit hectic - the two weeks before the print deadline were bloody horrendous, with last minute edits and proofs I was about tearing what little hair I had left.

Yes, the line-edit team did feel for you there. You were still battling away at it whilst we had fallen over and failed over to our backups.
But fortunately lessons were learned in the process of doing it that can be shared so that it won't be so fraught this time, especially with more folk contributing content so that the burden will be spread wider on this occassion.

Because of Andy's efforts in finding Josh Burcham's tutorial on colouring, I hope to be able to complete my artwork for the publication a bit more easier than I originally thought.

I've always had a problem with drawing precise circles and curves accurately with a pencil but I think I've found out how to do it correctly on Photoshop. The reason why I needed the tutorial was because I hate inking so as a result of the tutorial I hope to be able to draw curved lines and makes those lines black in Photoshop.

Well there are a few options. You can get templates and french curves for doing curved lines.
Alternatively in Photoshop just use the elliptical marquee tool and the stroke option to create circles and erase the bits you don't need and hey presto curved lines.

What I've worked out is that I can use Ellipse to draw the outline of a circle, then use Scale and Skew in the Transform Path option to manipulate the circle to the shape I want it to be. Then I use Adjustments and Auto Levels to make the outline virtually black. The Auto Levels function I learnt from the tutorial Andy found.
