So how many copies of this are we going to be selling?
I hope it's a few more than LO:) I saw James O's copy of LO recently and it was the first time I'd seen it since Transforce.

There will be 100 copies printed (though two have already been set aside one for Karl and one for Martin).
Speak not to me about the LO fiasco - HOW THE FUCK DO YOU LOSE 100 BOOKS? HOW?

You'd better set another copy aside for me, I'm not going home without my own fanzine again!

I still have LO nightmares.
100 copies may sound a lot but they'll go. We burned through all 100 copies of Last of the Great Arks 1 & 2 last time at AA. All the copies of Ruined Empire cleared as well and that was about 100-ish too.

You'd better set another copy aside for me, I'm not going home without my own fanzine again! Oh no worries, anyone who did work for it will get a copy (by hook or by crook). As it stands today is a day of paranoia as I have a follow up call to the printers to make sure things are proceeding apace. Although according to Royal Mail's website the dvd sent first class recorded on tuesday before lunch has not been marked as received. Needless to say right now I have no problems with bowel movements save for the fact I am shitting bricks. Andy

If Royal Mail have lost the dvd and fucked up another fanzine, I am going to lose it. Though nowhere near as much as Andy, I suspect.

It means using the original proof (which isn't the end of the world but I will do a smaller second run for Matt and Gav as they are the two whose work is affected - we lose a bit of the edge on one of Matt's pages and a word and some edges on Gav's) and chances are having to get the mags couriered to the venue on the day. And if RM have indeed lost the disc I am going to have the mother of all falling down moments this afternoon I can tell you.

Is there no way to transmit the new files electronically? In these days of broadband, Rapidshare etc there must be some way. Isn't there?

Please tell me Royal Mail have not lost the disc. -Ralph No the bastards have went one better. They ripped the recorded delivery sticker off the envelope and sent it standard mail. FUCKING CUNTS!!!!!!!!! Spoke to the printers and the books will be couriered to me on Thursday to ensure I get them. naturally I will believe that when I have the books in my hand. Cue a few more days of worry and paranoia. Andy

Hmmm, I was about to power down the Rail Gun but with that bit of wankery I think Royal Mail need taken down with a few Quantum Bullets.
I take it you will be complaining, Andu? Saying as they did not provide the service you paid for?
Still at least they didn't lose the DVD. There is that.

That's the Royal Mail for you. When you are a barely accountable monopoly you can fuck people over and get away with it.
Looking forward to drafting the volatile missive on Monday.

I had a similar problem with Royal Mail a few months ago. I sold an item on Ebay and sent it off to the buyer but it took them well over a month to receive it. During that time the buyer sent messages to me asking for a refund and whatnot and I was begining to think that due to RM's incompetence I was going to lose an item and the money for it.

I was told by a former postie that postmen regularly rip the recorded delivery sticker off and that recorded delivery is a complete waste of time - the view he said that lots of them take is: all it gets you is a signature. And if the sticker's 'fallen' off? Well, what a shame, but at least you don't have to knock on the door.
Good, huh?!
He said that special delivery is the only thing worth a damn.

And yet, if we were to kick the nearest postman in the bollocks* we would be the ones to get in trouble.
Or low-hanging labia, let's not be sexist.

Just spoke to the printers. Packed and sent out and will be with me tomorrow HOOOFUCKINGRAH! Apparently there was even a last minute snafu as they got the page orders wrong but the eagle eyed Chris Walton (who was responsible for the book) spotted it and sorted it out. So if anyone is looking for fanzines being printed in the future I know Graham has been previously been the port of call and has done an excellent job but if he's unable to oblige then www.bookprintinguk.com get my thumbs up.
