5 days remaining before the UK/Eire release date!
Five is also the number of characters we know Roche is adding to IDW - Guzzle, Pryo, Ironfist, Rotorstorm and Overlord! Yay!

I probably won't have a copy of it in hand until the weeked, given that I too buy my comics online now. It will be worth the wait though I am sure.

Yeah, I get mine online now, so I won't expect mine until at least a week later. The annoying thing is that this is the only series where I don't want any spoilers, and I have absolutely no doubt that some douche on some site or another will manage to ruin it for me. Like when Max Dinos was being released as singles, rather than the issue number and spoilers as thread titles, IDW kept putting up threads called Maximum Monsterbots, or Maximum Shockwave. And with AHM (though I cared less) it was always All Hail Perceptor, or All Hail Bombshell. For God's sake, I won't be seeing these until the trades*, at least try and make THREAD TITLES not contain Spoilers! But no, no doubt before the week is out there's gonna be a thread over there called Last Stand of Impactor, or whatever spoiler there may be.
*well, for Wreckers I'll be getting singles, but really, shouldn't that make it EASIER to not have it spoiled before reading?

I enjoy that the focus of this character now seems to be 'boobies'

Hmmm... Verity has had reconstructive surgery to change her bone structure. She looks completely different from the character we saw in the IDW preview issue. It's like the time when the Coronation Street team replaced the original Tracy Barlow with a new, more attractive model (who went on to sleep with the street and kill someone, but was pleasing to the eye).

I definitely see strong similarities. One could argue that after three to five years with the Autobots, she *may* have lost a little weight and toned up slightly.

Anyone else get a strong ShortPacked vibe when looking at the above panel? There are definitely similarities between the two images, but I'd suggest that those similarities are caused by having the same artist rather than anything specific to the character (although I do think her nose looks slightly longer in the coloured artwork). It's difficult to judge. Verity doesn't have specific characteristics presented by multiple artist, beyond hair colour and clothing. Her comic strip appearance always looked different from the cover in early issues. I can accept that Nick's sketches are the same character, but I would never have guessed it if I had seen the image out of context. Verity has a more classical beauty in the sketches, particularly the one on the top-left, when compared to the original. It may be just my imagination, but her cheek bones appear to be slightly higher in the sketches than they were in the original. Compare it to the image below.

Ah, a good old countdown. Maybe tomorrow IDW will post a five-page preview, eh? And if they do, and you know you're going to buy the book anyway (see, I said 'book' - completely Americanized now), are you going to read those five pages, or are you going to hold out and consume all 22 in one giddy rush of goodness? I leave it to you. I really want to hint at what's to come - I want to post a big bloody Next Week box like the good old days - but it's one of those situations where less is more, I suppose. What I will say - seeing as I'm among friends - is that the love that Nick and I have for the Marvel UK stories of our youth is evident from the pace and tone of the story. And from certain little... asides. Anyone can enjoy the 110 pages that follow, but Hubbers might find, here and there, the odd reference to yesteryear. And again, hats off to everyone who is buying this an issue at a time. It's supposed to be read that way, with great big cliffhangers and the rest; like when you were 10 and you reached page 13 of TFUK 85 and you started counting down the days until the next issue. 'Last Stand...' has mystery. And intrigue, oh yes. And hints and teases and nods and winks that are intended (and you'll tell us if this isn't the case) to create something that you don't see in comics too much these days: suspense. Between issues Nick and I want to see the boards ablaze with speculation: 'What did X mean by that?' 'Who is X?' 'Why did X act that way around Y?' (And I'm not anonymizing; I'm referring to members of the new Alphacon team). And fanfiction! Bring it on! If people take these five issues and build on them, fantastic! As I've said before, Nick and I could've filled another five issues. In this age of decompressed storytelling and writing-to-fill-trade paperbacks, we've gone the other way: these issues are CRAMMED. I'm sorry if this reads like another sales pitch. I'm just excited. Most excited I've ever been about a TF project, including good old Eugen. You know when you make a compilation for someone, or you play them a fantastic new song -- you're not doing it to flaunt your musical taste, or to attract praise for unearthing the track. You do it because you're excited about how they will react; because you think it's a good song and you know they have similar tastes and you think it'll make them feel the same way you felt. Extended metaphor over. But, since we're talking about songs, here's one song that I've been playing and playing during the writing process: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qxt1xv6FKpwListen to it, and in a very roundabout way get an advance preview of Last Stand of the Wreckers... issue four, to be exact. Oh yes.

Crikey, that turned out longer than expected!
Don't be offended if I cut and paste most of that onto the IDW site. Most of you Hubbers are sold, but there are still some people reading the ongoing who aren't convinced about LSoTW. They must be converted...

Hopefully my local comic shop will have it, though I haven't been in for months if not longer so I'm not totally sure it's still there.
I've been blitzing through IDW's trade to catch myself up. I think I just need to read AHM vol 2 and 4. There might be something else as what I have read doesn't fit neatly in to AHM vol1, then that seems to be the point of much of the complaints.

Hmmm, well I haven't read any IDW comics not drawn by Nick Roche, so I'm not going to blame James and Nick if I don't know what's going on. I'll just enjoy their talent and any homages to the Marvel comics. Martin

I can actually leave work earlier than normal on Thursday this week so will take the blow of shopping at FPE to get this on the day of release. I'll be sure to wash my hands after leaving the shop though.

God I hope my store remembered to pre-order this! I'll be right miffed if they didn't. Hopefully will have time on Wednesday to run by and get it. Also, Hutch has put up the fourth cover of the series at dA: fav.me/d2i8rzu

I won't be getting the issue just yet. I still have to get issue 2 of Bumblebee, Issue 3 of the Ongoing, Issue 6 of Tales of the Fallen and Issue 5 of the current Best of UK reprints. Yer, yer I know - I'm a compulsive TF comics buyer!

Three is the number of modes Springer has!

^ ...Was in the ongoing, which is supposed to begin after Wreckers begins... So prob'ly not. And lo there was great rejoicing throughout the land. So, I'm listening to the Philip Glass that James Roberts linked to earlier and I wanders across to Nick Roche's blog and sees the description:- "good golly: big, honking robots in a story about a space prison-break? " if I hadn't already been sold on buying this comic it is fair to say that I would be now. Karl
