Wait, they charge $30-40 shipping for a deluxe? Is it made of gold?

Thanks. I thought it was something silly. I'll give it a miss, I don't like it enough to pay that sort of price. I'd rather get Astrotrain if he's available at Auto Assembly. I much prefer that.

Oh I don't bother with it because for around £60 you get a very poor quality magazine that is shipped in a standard envelope so stands a good chance of being wrecked in transit. Honestly, Hubris is better quality (and significantly cheaper!) and is sent out in a card-backed envelope. The other thing you get is a toy, which you can wait up to a year for. That's all you get.
If you move address, the only way to tell them is to phone them during the daytime during the week rather than, you know, e-mail. Equally ludicrous, is that if you're outside the US you can't order paper products ie magazines from their internet online store. Yes, you have to phone this internet online store during daytime.
And yes, should you choose to order an item you get reamed for shipping in a way that would make even BBTS blush.
Fuck that!

Even the Botcon discount doesn't make it worth while on its own. The discount is about $60 so you still pay $30 extra to be a member which depending on the toy and your opinion of the magazine may or may not be worth it. Even the club exclusives aren't an incentive as, you either get them cheaper from ebay or as we did order as a group in which case only one person needs to be a member. Course after PCP sell out I expect order limits that will make doing the latter less likely. Andy

Does TFCC have the worldwide license for an official Transformer fanclub/convention? I thought they did, but then Hasbro said that the China Cybertroncon (or whatever it was called) was 'official' How good would it be to have a UK official club where you didn't get reamed by postage

The club logo appears on international packaging, so I assume they've got a worldwide licence (excluding countries serviced by Takara, perhaps). I don't know what the situation is with conventions. I think Simon tried to make Auto Assembly official but couldn't because Hasbro UK told him he'd have to go through the US licensing department; yet at the same time there is quasi-official recognition with local Hasbro branches co-operating with the likes of TFCon and (I think) NordCon.

Yeah, see I always assumed that they did have the monopoly, but Hasbro stating this Chinese con was official made me think again. We will probably always be under the horrid thumb of expensive US postage, wont we

Also I don't THINK TFCon or Nordcon are official, but I know TFCon at least has a ton of Hasbro involvement. Given that TFCon's exclusives are always fan-made stuff, I think we can safely say that Hasbro doesn't really mind that either

Going from what I've learned from botcon panels and the club boards.
I think FP is Hasbros only official con/club partner were FP are the ones designing figures, everyone else just get the exclusive right to sell a certain figure. Like the Seacons or TRU exclusives etc.
So in that sense FP ar the only ones, but I don't think theres anything stopping another group getting an exclusive of there own design from Hasbro besides money and the red tape. FP have said often that getting a single figure done in small numbers is difficult, which is why they didn't manage 2 club exclusives a year for quite a while and quite likely why the current Botcon is geared towards a large number of exclusives. Collectively between the 3 club toys and the average botcon set all of which are made about the same time FP order 20,000+ figures a year. Apparently the chinese factories still don't like having to do such a small run of figures even then.
So getting a single toy numbering about 500 in qauntity is probably an uphill struggle.
One day I'd like to see AA, Transforce, TFCon and Nordcon and anyone else team up and get a shared exclusve maybew with unique stickers for each event.
Cybertroncon could be Takara?

Personally, I don't care whether a club or convention is 'official'. It's creativity that catches my interest.

I'll send PMs later to everyone to make sure everyone gets asked properly, but there is a slight glitch in the PCP or at least some (I haven't checked them yet to see if any of this lot are affected) were the roof isn't aligned correctly, when the head is rotated up the chest/roof stops slight short of the vertical. Its a pretty easy fix that I don't mind doing while I do a quick inspection of them to make sure the limbs are all correct (which I need to do now incase theres are problems as replacements are going to be hard to get later). It just needs the torso unscrewing and the gear realigning. But I don't want ot mess around with anyones figures without permission so just lmk if you want them fixing (if needed) or not. Andy I require Bogatan's fixing service, please! I just checked mine and the chest does not totate well and stops quite a bit from the vertical. There have been many swear words. Not at yourself, my good man, but at Fun Pub! -Ralph

I really should have checked them all more carefully, but trying to check each for all the possible issues was just beyond mind numbing to the point i couldn't spot even blatant issues.
It is a really easy fix, I think theres a guide somewhere or else we can arrange something, either send it to me or I though I might try attending Scotcon this year if one is arranged.

Just as a thought, how do the fists work on P/CP? Surely in one mode he has backward hands?

Thanks for the link, Bogatan! I'll have a look and see if it's something I can do.
And don't apologise! Tis not your fault.
SG Cyclonus is fine btw.

Many thanks to Bogatan for his excellent 'how to fix' guide helped Karl fix my P/CP. That plus a few bars of the 70's Star Trek disco theme.
