Supposedly these will be up for preorder as soon as Hasbro confirm when they can be shipped.
I wanted to know if anyone was interested in either. As FP hate international members they only way to make them affordable is to order in bulk.
Using Nightbeat (the last club exclusive) which cost $48 as a guide, Brian (owner of FP) confirmed to me that shipping for the new exclusives should be about the same as it and Airrazor.
Hopefully the toys will be around the same Price too. P/CP might be more than Nightbeat as it has more new parts, but Cyclonus should be less as its a straight repaint.
As it stands the cheapest shipping for Nighbeat is $45.50 ( I kid not). So it would cost a member $93.50 or about £60 for one figure shipped. 10 figures cost $167 to ship which works out as $64.70 or £40ish per figure.
You might get them of ebay but if P/CP sells out like the seacons then the price will skyrocket pretty quickly.
I'm just throwing the idea out there incase anyone else is thinking about buying them as this is probably the cheapest option. It doesn't have to be 10 even if I just buy one each for myself shipping drops to just $30 a piece. 3 figures to $24 each, but 10 items is where he big reductions level out.

P/CP tempts me, but won't they restrict orders per member?
That shipping price is obscene!

Nope members can order as many as they like. Just look at Nick and his stack of Seacons at AA. FP's only concern is that they sell.
And yes the shipping is a joke, but they refuse to ship without tracking and signature. Combine that with the US' already expensive post and international club members spend more on shipping than any product.

Put me down for a prospective P/CP, depending on what the final price is. I dont really fancy going for the Shattered Glass Cyclonus, it doesn't do it for me Would it be possible to use a middleman in the US? Or would the extra shipping costs involved negate any savings?

Post by Bogatan on Mar 5, 2010 14:26:37 GMT
Might be less, but as I said the US post isn't the cheapest to start with and just to save a few bucks I'd feel a bit stupid opting for a less well covered method then something happening to the package. Even with just one each for me and one for you thats already half the cost, $24 and down into the sort of price and I'd expect to pay.
If they got released early enough I'd be tempted to send them to someone going to Botcon, like I'm doing with the Strafes, but then I start to run out of room really quickly especially as the club toy boxes have been pretty large so far. Even using my brother as a toy mule for the last two years room has been tight and the boxes dont always come through intact.

I'm a maybe, more for Punch than Cyclonus.
When are they due and when do they need to be paid for - when preordering or when they come in stock?
Shipping is partly why I don't yet have Astrotrain or Nightbeat. There's currently an offer on Astrotrain and Airrazor combined, so it may pay me to explore that option, buying them plus the others (selling the Airrazor which I already have).
Does anyone know if the Club will have a presence at Auto Assembly again this year and how the member prices there last year compared with buying directly online?

Supposedly FP are completely ready now, but are waiting for Hasbro to tell them when the figures will ship. As soon as that happens, preorders will go up and then they ship as soon as they arrive with FP. I think the payment will go when the preorder is taken which is a pain but I don't think there will be much.
If I'm ordering for people I would appriciate payment in time to pay my credit card bill which would mean within 3-6 weeks of making the order, oh and an extra whatever for postage from here. I guess £2-3
Also if it got hit by customs that would have to be split between everybody.
I was looking at the current Astrotrain Airrazor offer but again shipping is more than the toys.
I don't know what Deans plans are for AA, but I think he wanted to do the club stall again. The only problem with waiting for that is that everyone assumes P/CP will be a sell out so there wont be any for AA. I can't remember what the prices were like as I wasn't a member at the time so wasn't paying much attention.

Put me down for 2 P/CP and a SG Cyclonus.
Alan also wants 2 P/CP and a SG Cyclonus.
So that's 6 additionals.

Cool that will make at least 10 provided everyone is happy with the price. That should leave shipping around $17 per item which is about as low as it gets. If I got up to ordering 20 I think the price is about $15-16.

I'd be up for a SG Cyclonus and PC depending on when they are available. Don't really have room in March/April budgets but May would be fine. When are these out?

Anytime. I think they were already meant to be up now but Hasbro's holding it up. I suspect they wont want Botcon registration and the club exclusives at the same time and Botcon will probably come first so it could be put back further.
Best guess its Punch that will sell out so if you have the money for one in the budget get it first. If they are released before Botcon, Cyclonus's could still be available there if I or Nick or someone has room.

Blimey! I'd better get my fan club subscription renewed pronto so I can order a bunch for Toy-fu/the Scots Contingent/Anyone Bogatan misses!
Bear in mind that such a large and expensive package has about a 90% chance of getting customated. Hate to rain on the ol' parade but it's worth factoring in.

I think I got hit on every package I've gotten from FP (ok thats only 2 so not a huge sample) and almost all other commercial companies in the last few years. The only exception being Shopping mall Japan, so I generally take that in to account before buying.
But it is worth thinking about for everyone above whose shown an interest, though even if it is caught it should still work out about £10 cheaper than a single order that doesn't get cuta'd.

Nah not too late at all. Until FP release some pre order info its still hypothetical as theres always a chance they'll place some limit orders, or prices will be stupidly high and no one will want any.
Once pries are announced I'll do the maths and people can decide if its worth it for them.

Preorders have gone up Punch Counterpunch is $60 SG Cyclonus is $45.
Thats more than I expected to pay at least for Cyclonus. But I'll still likely order Punch so if people are interested still either PM me or post here. I'll get exact costs now.

Ah crap, just spent 10 minutes typing out the break down and I got logged out. Shipping for figures shipping cost is the same for either figure. cheapest international shipping for 1 piece $41.00 cheapest international shipping for 2 pieces $45.50 - $22.75 cheapest international shipping for 3 pieces $50.00 - $16.67 cheapest international shipping for 4 pieces $59.00 - $14.75 cheapest international shipping for 5 pieces $63.50 - $12.70 cheapest international shipping for 10 pieces $95.00 - $9.50 per figure cheapest international shipping for 20 pieces $153.50 - $7.68 per figure Theres a point were I'd get hit by excise or some other tax so I'd have to stay under that. I'll find out before ordering. Also assume customs will take you so add 17.5% and a share of the £8 charge and a few quid more for UK postage. Andy

Tupping hell! Forty quid before shipping for Punch? I might leave it till Botcon and hope there are still some left. What do you reckon the chances are they'll sell out before then?

Petes already warning they could be gone within days. As in before Monday possibly even tomorrow if order continue like the first hour. Usually the mad rush dies down, basically who knows. Plus it appears they wont ship until after Botcon which means they likely wont be available at Botcon even if they aren't sold out.

I'm thinking of making an order now and if I need to trying to add to it on Monday. I just run the risk of under or over estimating. Maybe if I just order a bunch of the P/CP and then a seperate order orthe Cyclonuses with extra P/CP if needed. If I'm over I can always feed hem to Toyfu or ebay.

Well, if you say so chief. I may order some today. Do they charge your card right away or wait until the figures are ready? If the former I'll have to go to the bank.

Right away rather annoyingly. That fact theres been no update on sales is either because everyone has gone home for the night or because orders have slowed, but you should be okay today and tomorrow.
I'll keep an eye on the club forum just in case.
