Link To The Past is not available for GameCube. You can get it for SNES, GBA and VC (SNES).
AFAIK 4 Swords on GBA is not the same as the GC version.

Good - didn't want to be bidding on the same game twice. I was hopeing there are all new games & also hope they are not like the 2nd game on the classic collection & all the others are like the first & N64 2. Didn't know if GBA 4 swords was just ported to console 4 swords games.

I've never played either of the Four Swords games. The first I couldn't play because it was multiplayer only while the second one (the one on the GC) I just couldn't be bothered to pick up the disc for.

The Four Swords on Link To The Past is indeed different to the Gamecube version which was called Four Swords Adventure, I think- I had a Japanese copy (Four Swords+).
Also Link's Awakening is not on the Gamecube collection and is probably my favourite Zelda game.

Here's an interesting theory seeing that this is a general Zelda games thread. Does anybody here think that Majora's Mask is a dream?
If you've never played the game you won't know what I'm talking about but I've been speculating this for a while and even a few Zelda websites recently have also speculated this as well. Nintendo's official explanation for the game is that Termina (the world in which Majora's Mask is based) was created by a tear in time itself (or something like that) when the three Goddesses created Hyrule. Myself, I think that is rubbish but plausible - if you don't consider the following:
At the beginning of the game (Majora's Mask) Link enters Termina not by conventional means but by falling down a deep chasm where a load of images of masks float past him. This deep chasm takes him into Termina which is on sea level - a strange way of entering a level grounded world in anyone's opinion.
All of the characters in the game are doppelgangers of characters Link met on his previous adventure (Ocarina of Time). It can presumed that the game is a dream that Link is experiencing and his mind is throwing into the dream characters he had previously met in real life.
The final (and oddly damning) piece of evidence involves a minor subquest within the game. In the Milk Bar in Clock Town once you have acquired all three non-human forms in the game you can use all four forms (including Link's own human form) to play a song in there. This song is revealed to be The Ballad of the Wind Fish which was the song used to awaken the final boss in Link's Awakening which has been officially recognised as a dream by Nintendo.

Link's Awakening is an excellent game but I never completed it. I got up to the final boss, was beaten and never played the game again. Shame really because I enjoyed the game immensely. I wouldn't mind picking up the game again but I've forgotten where I've put it!

I've played both. I completed Oracle of Seasons and I quite enjoyed it but Ages on the other hand was an excellent game that annoyed me in places. The bit of Ages that annoyed me the most comes early in the game when Link is washed ashore and some lizard like creatures steal every single one of Link's items. In order to get them back he has to find one or two of them, buy a few back, trade one or two of his recently re-found items for one or two more important items so that he can play a couple of mini games to win back another one or two of his items and then use them to trade in for other more important items so that he can play another mini game to win back another one of his items and so on and so on ..... Probably the best bits are the secrets within both games. If you complete one of the games and then connect the Game Boy Color the game is in up to another Game Boy Color with the other game in you can unlock some secret things in the game that you haven't yet played. Characters from the completed game also turn up in the as yet uncompleted game when you link both games together and if you then complete the second game Ganondorf and also Twinrova (the two witches from Ocarina of Time) also turn up. Furthermore, there is a shop in each game which is locked up if you play the game on a Game Boy Color but open for business if you play the game on a Game Boy Advance. I wholly recommend you play both games and use the link feature as well. All you need to use the link feature is two Game Boy Colors, a Game Boy link cable and a copy each of both games.

Rather than using the link cable you can also continue your game from one cart to the other using a password, which is handy if you only have one Game Boy.
I actually preferred Ages to Seasons, though I think this is in part down to the fact I somehow skipped a dungeon which I then had to go back to. Trying to sort it out was a bit confusing and time consuming.
Overall a good game across two cartridges, though I don't think it's a patch on Link's Awakening.

I preferred Seasons to ages also. while we are on the subject of these two games which animal companion did you get in game you played. I read that depending on what actions you take in the game it gives you a different animal companion to always rely on. I got the boxing kanagaroo character (I think his name was Rocky) while the other two still turned up in the game but made only cameo appearances in their home area in the game.

I'd forgotten about the animals and couldn't think who I had... until you mentioned Rocky. I don't remember if that was his name, but my companion was the boxing kangaroo too.
Can't think who the others were though.

Overall a good game across two cartridges, though I don't think it's a patch on Link's Awakening. Agreed. I'd rate them: LA >>>>> Seasons >> Ages LA is the best handheld Zelda by a clear margin and possibly the best the series. I think if it had Link to the Pasts graphics I'd rate it above LttP. It's crying out for a re-release or remake. Seasons and Ages are still great games though. I started on Seasons and finished on Ages. Always meant to do another run the opposite way around as I think the bonus dungeon in Seasons is different to the one in Ages. The blue/red floor tile puzzle in the Ages bonus dungeon still gives me nightmares.

I've just thought to check one of the instruction booklets. The animal companions were:
Ricky (boxing kangeroo) Dimitri (dragon-like creature that swims) Moosh (flying blue bear)

Link's Awakening definitely needs a re-release even though it was released twice orginally - first on the old green screen Game Boy and then a few years later on the Game Boy Color with colour graphics and a bonus dungeon.
When I played the two Oracle games I completed Seasons then linked it up to Ages and went through that game until I got to the final boss. I never completed Ages due to me getting beaten by the final boss Veran and never playing the game again. The same happened with The Minish Cap. The final boss in that game was ridiculously tough and I never played the game again after being beaten once.

I don't recall completing Zelda 2. I got about half way through it on the collectors disc before getting bored of the game. I wouldn't say its a bad game but its just different and more platformy than every other Zelda game made.

Same here - i'm currently heading for the swamp palace but wiht having to start from the start - you loose all your lives before you get there & I can build up 500/700 points. It going in the tunnel where i loose a life - then when going round - i don't like the square where you end up in the middle of those blue frogs.

Currently aiming to get 3000 points - get to 2000 without loosing any life - but then you end up in an area where you can't get back to recover your magic or health & loose all 3 lives. I try to take out the spiders & lizard seeing get 50 points each - in maze area.
Also don't like those ones you kill & you dont get points for - but seem to take points of you if you get hit.

Zelda 2 question
currently running around with the 3 lifes & building up points & leaving collecting the life ups til later.
But
when you collect the lifes & then save game - does it remember it & save lives, or do you only get the extra life [that you can only collect once] & when you load again goes back to 3 lifes? If not & does save them - then i'll know to save the game after i collect each one & before i get killed - so have full lifes for the later areas.

Wish I could help but I honestly can't remember. I'd assume it does save them but I'm struggling to remember anything about Zelda 2 right now. Sorry.

I'll have to give it a try then but ensure i have back up games save. I've got back to the 3 palace stones but this time not collected the life dotted around - but i don't know what the guide means by get extra life from each palace - i've done the 5 & beaten the boss & got 9000 points. are you supposed to not use them & get 3 9000 & then you get extra life [that you have 3 different levels up ALM]

Found out it doesn't save 1-up's. Got one then saved & restarted at 3 like normal. So only can collected them once & if you exit the game you can't collect them again, unless exit without saving. But use 3 lifes getting to the first cave heading to the last palace.

Not looked at any online guide yet - but got to forest level & need the boss key. which i expect is in the chest on floor 4 - 3 rooms south. I clear everything hanging from the room then use the leaf, but get across just lower than the platform with the chest on [woudl Link crab the ledge if let go?] but end up in room below with the water & the fan crossing.
