But on the flipside, why not sell sets to people who want to buy them? Who benefits from regionally exclusive sets? They're not saying they won't do region-specific sets, they are saying they won't artificially limit where they're available. Everyone wins.

But what's the problem with having sets only some countries get? No different from some products only being at cons etc? What's the point of having exclusives then? We can't always get what we what. The modern cultural notion of 'I must have everything' is really off-putting to me. I cope just fine knowing not everything to do with a toy range is personally available to me. Whenever I feel these feelings rising I try to remind myself 'it's just toys' to get my sense of perspective back.

Convention exclusives exist as a way of i)encouraging attendance at a convention and ii)getting more product out there that otherwise wouldn't exist.

I read the announcement in a much more positive lightGiving a the product a period of regional exclusivity and then making it available only through Lego's online store, which is one of the better ones and already sells it's store exclusives, seems a good way to go. Other firms could learn from Lego's example here <cough>Hasbro<cough>

Very disappointed in the Moon Base. That's not a base on the moon that's, er, a space station in space. Um. Er?

At least one other site has this down as Lunar Space Station, not Moon Base, so it's possible Brickset has got the name wrong.

What a waste. The Calendar would have been a great chance for some random characters. I guess the christmas jumpers are something.
Hagrids hut doesnt look nearly as good as the last one and definitely isnt if it doesnt have the light up fire place.
Night Bus also doesnt look as good as the last one, but does still look fairly good.
but the Clocktower and Triwizard sets tempt me. Massively annoying that they share 2 of the character I want. I'd probably just go for the dragon set if Madame Maxine was in it too, but then again the clocktower does combine with last years sets and has everyone in different outfits.
