I believe Lego aren't a terribly easy company for smaller business to deal with.

For a bit of balance, I was overjoyed by the Mouse Droid on the 14th and could not shift the smile from my face as I popped it together. I've always been fond of the little chaps and always look out for them in any SW game, and I'm delighted to have a nifty wee Lego one now. -Nick I always treated them as dispensers of free batteries - but then I mostly remember them from Dark Forces so that'd probably be why. I've not gotten either of the Lego advent calendars - not been able to afford them but it does sound like the City one is the better buy viewed as a complete entity. Actually I've been looking at the Lego City stuff in Tesco and Smyths over the last weeks and it occurs to me that Lego is one of the few things where the large sets don't actually feel like they have shrunk since I was a youngster. Lego still seems to come in satisfyingly chunky boxes. Karl

Lego like their big boxes. When Toys'r'us had their Lego 3 for 2 weekend, I nearly got blown in front of a bus by the wind.
I was in Hamleys yesterday, and they actually had the Tower Bridge set that's been on the website since the start of the year. The box is enormous. Deep, too. I've come to expect Lego sets to be in really flat boxes with a huge facade. The bridge box is a good three inches deep- big enough to conceal several complete models I own, or two small dogs. It's a big box, is what I'm saying.

Now that I don't buy TF's that often I can see myself buying a shit tonne of LEGO in 2012. It's been slowly creeping into my toy budget in 2011 and has the advantage that it can be broken down for easy storage when space is an issue.
Yep, Star Wars, Super Heroes, Lord of the Rings, etc...

Today's Lego Advent model: Y-wing! There's an A-wing pictured on the box too. I hope there's a B-wing to round out the set, but it's looking less likely with only 6 days to go and the TIE Fighter, the Falcon and Santa Yoda still to come. Might have to bust out the collection and improvise. Hope I have enough grey parts left after my recent projects.
EDIT: A word of warning to the ham handed: I've just put the Y-wing together, and it's fiddlier than a fiddler crab fiddling with his costume before the big fiddle contest at Fiddlecon 2010. Good luck to all.

Meanwhile, in the City Calendar, another criminal scum figure has appeared! Police Chap locked him up in jail straight away, but Criminal Scum Man #1 is off on his skateboard now the Police are occupied. Police Chap has jumped into the completed (as of yesterday) Cop Car to give chase! But why is the Christmas Tree unattended? And what sinister role does the Silent Fisherman have to play in the ensuing mayhem?

Be sure to keep us updated on the tabletop melodrama. I've never seen a mini B-wing, but I'm mulling over how to go about one as we speak.

I like the pilot theme to the figures..... Some ground troops next year would be nice: Clone Troopers (both flavours) Storm Trooper, Rebel Fleet Trooper, Snowtrooper, Hoth Rebel, Biker Scout, Endor Rebel, Ewok.....

I was admiring my niece's Lego Kingdom advent calendar yesterday. (When did it change from Castle??) It's got a queen, a pig, a blacksmith and a skeleton amongst others. In other news: Lego Friends for girls. www.toysnplaythings.co.uk/news/latest_news_2/lego_friends_for_girls_arrives.aspx?dm_i=GSU,N6UV,4KMYOK,1VJ9X,1 I imagine this'll have the gender stereotyping police up in arms, yet the picture shows a female engineer/scientist/inventor. (That's not a Mini-Figure!!!)

Do I need the 2009 Ice Turret & taunton set? Goodo. click, click, click. Amusingly the eBay seller turns out to be just round the corner. Literally it's closer for him to walk here than to go to the post office! You did say I needed the Wampa cave too? Found one on eBay cheaper than TRU.
