Not as horrible as one may have expected from the words 'Alex' and 'Milne'.

Looks quite good, but my interest in this issue can be attributed to the fact Jhiaxus should be in it.
Nuff said really.

Anyone seen this at all yet? No sign of it in Forbidden Planet Edinburgh the other day. It doesn't appear to have come out as yet. (At least, regular copies haven't shown up anywhere. I believe A1 in Glasgow got their incentive covers but none of the regular covers) The current theory seems to be that it might be a problem at Diamond. I suspect it will emerge in due course. Karl (Oh, and as I haven't said it yet - welcome back to T'Hub skillex)

The current theory seems to be that it might be a problem at Diamond. I suspect it will emerge in due course. My knowledge of how crappy Diamond are comes in handy! Basically comics are shipped from the US to the UK at the weekend. The pallets of comics are scheduled to leave at a certain time so if comics arrive late, they will not be shipped to the UK until the next week. Used to be a fairly common problem with IDW titles, but hasn't happened for a year or so. Expect to see them this coming Wednesday/Thursday.

No worries, I spent many a time explaining it last Thursday and Friday to people looking for Arcee and the new issue of Angel.

Sounds like a fun few days at work. Cheers for the heads up James. Gotta love Diamond. Andy Yeah, but that's the thing with being a monoploy distributor, there is less incentive for Diamond to make sure their service is always up to snuff. One of the things that makes me not envy the folk running comic shops some of the time. Karl

Diamond are great. The pallets sometimes get left in the rain, destroying a large quantity of stock.

Every time I hear a diamond story and how badly they screw over their customers I get reminded of the Simpsons ep with Comic Book Guy and his heart attack.

But you should be rejoicing! Longtooth in incarcerated! Without a body!
Quite a good issue overall, a few new twists to the ongoing story and continuation of others. Artwork surprisingly different to Milne's usual confusion. Good mix of characters as well.
But how dare they try to make out Jetfire is the equal of Fortress Maximus!! *shakes 1980s Galactica fist at them* :-)

Hmm. Colour me unimpressed as some folk might say. Not a big fan of this story at all.
Be advised, for those who haven't read it, there be spoilers below. Proceed at your own risk.
I'll give Furman his due - he promised a version of Arcee that we hadn't seen before, and technically he has delivered. However, whether swapping the fan service of the "designated girlfriend" version from the Sunbow Cartoon with a "lethal dominatrix" sort of character is an improvement or not is, I guess, a matter of taste. I was of a "could be good, could be bad" mind regarding the IDW version of Arcee before this issue came out. Having read it I would much prefer to not see the character again - simply because she isn't very interesting.
I wasn't that enthused by the origin of Arcee's gender either - although it did give me the amusing mental image of IDW's Jhiaxus character beavering away in his lab, laughing maniacally and wondering "what eeeevvill! experiment can I perform today?"
Wasn't that impressed with the art either. It wasn't quite as difficult to follow as some of Milne's previous work but still felt rather cluttered. Also, and I'm not sure if this is Milne or his colourists at work here, but whomever is responsible could do with allowing a little more light into the scenes in places.
Suffice to say that of all the Transformers comics I bought this week this is the one I really regret spending money on.

I don't think this spotlighted enough on Arcee, I think the story for this spotlight should have either focused on what Jhiaxus did to Arcee before hand or the story of Arcee tracking down and confronting Jhiaxus. This spotlight was more of a plot device to tie in with the end of Devastation and the events of spotlight Optimus Prime.

This is the first I've heard of that interpretation. Arcee just struck me as very skilled and very driven with no particular 'dominatrix' aspect to her... Perhaps, I suspect, Karl is in league with Jhiaxus to unneccessarily impose gender on the Transformers race?! Fiend!
