Yes. Not too keen on that one.
It has occured to me that very soon we will have 3 main lines running similtaneously: the Movie(s) stuff, Animated and Universe. Also in Japan there is Encore. Characters available at differing pricepoints. Toys aimed at younger kids, older kids and adult collectors.
Seems like they will be enough of a variety of stuff coming out to suit all tastes/budgets/available space. Plus, much of previous eras is still available through on-line stores/ebay.
Not bad. We've never had it so good.

Why have they done Galvatron Delux?! What a mistake! He should have been Ultra! And before you all go 'oh it's just size obsessed shockprowl going off on one again', you gotta agree Galvatron is Ultra, voyager at least! (come on Phil you must agree!) I think he looks perfectly good at that size. A little bit puffier than is to my tastes (but then they are going with the "The Transformers" animation model, which is quite "leg of mutton sleeve" in appearance). What makes me sigh is that they appear to have decided to colour his vehicle mode in low-viz grey, and then paint the F-15 mold in some bizarre combination of greens. At least one of these colours needs to be switched around.... (They won't do a mass-release Thundercracker, he was an exclusive to Botcon last year.) I cannot get over the vast array of product that is going to be coming out in the next year. Thinking back to when I was first picking up "Car Robots" stuff it is a whole different situation. This is a candidates for the largest renaissance that "Transformers" has had. Karl

Having just seen some more of the pics, I think animated just won me over. Sigh more things to spend too much money on...

New Legends molds - I hadn't noticed them before now. I think I might be tempted by some of those (the Megs does look rather spiffy, and the Starscream would nicely satisfy my wish to see more non-US jets used for TF alt-modes) Karl

The face-sculpt on that Legends Megatron is rather nice indeed. A shame for Hasbro that I saw those pictures. I was rather liking the look of Silverbolt until I saw exactly what happens with his legs in aircraft mode. A little too much like random hanging kibble for my tastes.

Been looking at more pics on TFormers of Roadbuster, Dirge, Ratbat and Springer. That mold is soooooo made for Roadbuster! He looks great! 'Cept the face ain't right. Ratbat I like also. That alt mode is very batrat like. Springer has grown on my. The heli mode isn't dynamic looking enough, but the robot mode actually isn't bad. And Dirge looks great, but if I get him I'll have to hunt down a red voyager cyb SS (as Thrust) and then worry that there isn't a white one for Ramjet and I'll be in a whole worlda hurt! They torment me! Hope to get hold of both packs though. Dread to think how much it'll be!

The Roadbuster I rather like. It doesn't look a lot like his original Caliber alt-mode, but it is in keeping in design terms - lightweight and reasonably agile. The colour scheme works really well in both modes as well. Not so sure about the Dirge though - I'm not a big fan of the design and I don't feel it looks much like I would envision a Cybertronian Dirge looking (I'd imagine something that looked a bit more aerodynamic to be honest), but it actually looks marginally better in those colours than it did it grey.
They've picked a pair of really nice molds for the Springer and Ratbat too, and colour schemes that work pretty well too.
Quite like them.

Did Roadbuster ever actually bust any roads? And why? What is his problem with roads? Why must he punish them so? Enquiring minds want to know.

So, who's gunna get what outa new Universe? And the other new figs whilst we're at it?
Bloody loads I wana buy. So I'm gunna have to be strict with myself (or I'll get divorced).
Let's see, gunna buy list:
Classics Prowl, Sunstreaker, Octane, Onslaught to turn into Grimlock, Sideswipe, Ironhide, Ratbat and Springer, Roadbuster and Dirge, Cyclonus. Gunna wait for pics of Hound and Ravage before I decide on them (seems an odd set that one- Ravage fits onto Hound? Why? Ravage transforms into a casset? To fit whome? G1 Reissue Soundwave?).
MP Thundercracker (still need MP Skywarp as well- ouch, lotta meatballs these two).
Titanium Prowl (YIIIIPPPEEEEE!), Skywarp and Grimlock.
Not going to buy:
I've decided not to get Silverbolt. He looks really good, but I've got the entired Energon 'Aerialbot' team and I find them more than exceptable. I'm not going to get Silverstreak. I'd deffo buy him if he was BLUEstreak, but not silver. And not getting Galvatron, too small.
Not going to buy Animated (escept Prowl, naturally. And maybe Jazz. And Soundwave. Prob have to get a Shockwave if he appears... oh blimey...)
Not going to get any Legends Universe (Jazz, Hound, G2 Megs etc). They don't fit into my collection. (That had better not be the only Jazz they're gunna do! Or I'll Kung-Fu 'em!)
Going to have to put MP Grimlock on the back burner as well. Interested in this fig, but the jets, classics and titaniums are a priority.
And DEFFINATELY not going to get that horrible horrible Universe Blaster, gosh I'm cross 'bout that one.
Where's that over-time list again...

My problem is that after the last 3 main lines not having much that interested me, most of Animated and the new Universe line have 'buy me' written all over them. Bugger.

I've decided not to get Silverbolt. He looks really good, but I've got the entired Energon 'Aerialbot' team and I find them more than exceptable. I'm not getting Silverbolt as things stand, mostly because the photographs we've seen make him look pretty terrible - 'plane kibble strapped to his back in humanoid mode, humanoid leg kibble hanging off the bottom of the 'plane mode. At that size class they really should be able to come up with a more elegant solution. They are doing a Jazz in the animated line, so I suspect that you won't see one in Universe at a larger size than the Legends. I'm finding with Universe and Animated that there are a lot of toys I like the look of - heck, if space and funds allowed I'd probably pick up most of Animated, but I'm not sure whether I will actually be picking them up or not. I've got more Transformers than I can actually display, meaning that a lot of them spend the majority of their time sitting in the attic in boxes. I can't help feel that this is a sad fate for a toy, and that perhaps better I leave them on the shelf for some kid to slam against his Power Rangers toys in due course. I'm playing a "wait-and-see" with most of these two lines to be honest. I'll more than likely get Animated Starscream - his fighter mode is too much of an Excaliber tribute for me to resist when he appears on shelves - Animated Ratchet, Animated Ultra Magnus and possibly Prowl, and Universe Prowl. I like the look of a lot of the others, but I shall wait and see how I feel when I see them on shelves I think. It's a shame because it is a good mold, spoilt by a terrible colour scheme. Karl

I have yet to see anyone on-line say they like Universe Blaster...but I do! I am that lone voice screaming into the night. I felt the mould was ok but not 'must buy' until I saw the Blaster colour scheme. Clearly something is wrong with my mind! I also suspect my deep and over-riding love of the comic version of Blaster is part of it.

It is good that you like Universe Blaster - I'm sure that he feels much better for knowing that he is loved by someone. On the bright side it should mean that there will be less competition to get hold of him...

If Blaster was deluxe It would be mine as its is I dont any version of the toy because it isnt.
Whats not been mentioned. Or I missed them while reading
Universe Legends Brawn. New mould. Minibot sized. Genius use of the size class. I think there was another minibot being done as well. A lot of the new Universe stuff does look nice the Decepticon repaint of Powerglide (MM jet forgotten name, Arggh!) looks really good and it amuses me that it will still have a heart inside its chest.
Sideswipe had the correct head in the display and looks great. Acid Storm I like. At least its not Sunstorm for those that dont.
Animated. OK I got lucky and got the full first wave. Still not opened a lot of them but they are amazing. One thing I like a lot is that there will be a deluxe, voyager and leader Megs so everyone should be able to afford a version. Prime also has three versions 2 deluxe and is it voyager or leader. Plus a giant electronicy one. 2 Pack Prime is the best. Awesome axe. Voyager MEgs good. Starscream OMG it is so nice but even better is Bulkhead yes its small but I jut cant say in how many ways it ROCKS.
Wreakgar will be great and the designer told me he was trying to create Animated Arcee so the car mode looked like the G1 version just not a convertible. I suggested Actionmaster Thundercracker needed to make a return. Fingers crossed.

Doc', clearly you're as mad a cat in a sack, liking Uni Blaster indeed!!! Usually I'd say 'each to their own', but not this time! That Blaster is a mocery and has prob ruined any chance of a 'proper' Classics Blaster (wheaps).
Good point 'bout that Seeker NOT being Smegging Sunstorm, that'd made my head explode with rage!
Yeah Brawn sounds interesting, but wrong size! I want him delux to fit in with Classic Bumblebee etc. Darn it.
Dear Christmas they'd better do a delux Jazz...
