Hope everyone has a good week. No new problems at work, but they have started giving some people a book on "negative energy".

Went to job interview number n this morning. It was ok, nice people, the project/job seemed more doable than it looked on paper.
Ten minutes later as I was walking back home I got a call I had been expecting from last lot that interviewed me. I had been given a nod last Tuesday that there might be a job for me as they were keen enough on me to take on an extra person (to cut a long story short) but had to get it ok'd. Hence why I was very tense and irritable last week waiting to see if it would pan out or not. Well it did and as I had verbally indicated my interest last week and they had went to some effort to get me I felt quite happy verbally accepting the confirmed offer. Still need to put it in writing once I get it in writing from them and get references and all that sorted. Should have a start date firmed up later in the week, hopefully. I look forward to being back in work in November doing something useful.
Need to wait in for a chap to come look at the dodgy oven. Once he has been I am out to celebrate!

Hope everyone has a good week. No new problems at work, but they have started giving some people a book on "negative energy". If a Negatrive Energy Book goes into the Negative Zone does it gain power? Bet Annihilus has the entire set.

Got home this morning to hear that my mother has now booked her removal lorry (she says van, but I've seen those things - calling them a removal van is like saying Godzilla is a sizeable lizard), so her impending move form the North of England to Surrey to join her new husband grows ever closer.
It almost feels as if my family are steadily receding from me. Fairly soon Shrewsbury will be the location of the nearest member of my family. I am becoming a sort of isolated northerly out post of the clan.

Whereabouts in Surrey is she heading for? Back to the general area of Nork and Banstead (or as I thought of it as a kid, "somewhere after Sutton" as we used to have to go into London and then back out in that direction when we went up from Cardiff to visit familiy). Karl

I have yet to receive a copy of the Nega-Book but I hear it also contains the phrase "toxic energy dump". I can only assume this refers to a particularly foul-smelling bowl movement following the consumption of too much Red Bull.

Someone at work has offered to /give/ me their fully MOTed/taxed car. Unfortunately the best quote for insurance I could find is...
...£3,600!
I need to live somewhere else! Sod it!

Perhaps the Nega-Book holds the answer!
I am pretty zombied today. Partially because of terrible insomnia last night and also because my routine of the last few months is out of whack. I usually spend the morning trawling through job websites, etc. Not that I'm complaining! Just a bit lost what to do and lack of sleep not helping.
Hopefully the postie will turn up at the usual half 12 time with some comics and an important letter.

Nothing from postie again today. Either some things have gone missing in the post or something is up with the mail...
Went for a nice walk through Colinton Dell this afternoon which helped clear my head somewhat.
Oh, last night I heard what sounded a lot like bat squeaks several times in the local park. I am aware bats are in the area but have never seen them so it was quite a thrill to hear them. Well, I could be wrong, but after listening to some sample bat sounds on the interweb that's what it sounded like. Or it could have been Martians. Who knows.

Well if you're at a loss for something to do there's always the video camera.....
Phil meanwhile was looking fwd to a night in but has been called up to project tonight at church. I did think it would only be 4 times this week.....
