I may just have purchased a digital download of a compilation of crazy Shatner & Nimoy tracks. The Shatner's version of Hamlet is mind-boggling!

Currently, Nimoy is telling me words of strange wisdom. What a barmy album. "You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees or the stars!"

A shocking revelation from this album of champions is Nimoy's genuinely good version of Gentle On My Mind. Here is a crackly youtube copy:

Busy, busy time at work at the moment some upheaval going on. Nothing bad just changes and then as I leave work which throws everything up into the air. Again not bad just something I wasn't expecting.
I have a lot to think about over the next few days...

Currently, Nimoy is telling me words of strange wisdom. What a barmy album. "You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees or the stars!" That would be the 'Desiderata', Ralph. I think it dates back to the 1920s. I have a print of it on my bedroom wall. Go placidly amid the noise and the haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even to the dull and the ignorant; they too have their story. Avoid loud and aggressive persons; they are vexatious to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain or bitter, for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself. Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time. Exercise caution in your business affairs, for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals, and everywhere life is full of heroism. Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love, for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment, it is as perennial as the grass. Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be. And whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul. With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy. Martin

Desiderata has a strong place in my mind and heart It is the favourtie poem of my father, and we have had some form of the text around the house over my childhood I also loved the musical version - Les Crane My dad called his boat Desiderata (the first was Xanadu - another mutual thing we like - the film btw) OK gushing now - but this poem is something to damn well live by

I have had a nice day. Met Mr Turnbull for a natter and some lunch, then went for one of my rare cups of tea and read some of this month's DWM. About to have some nice Quorn burgers and will watch the Who story 'The Horns of Nimon'.

A very bad and depressing meeting with the school today that basically said we need to chuck all the important bits about Jonathan's needs out of his statement before the school will take him.....

This one may run for a little while....
Some of the health professionals involved have requested a meeting with the woman at Swindon in charge of setting the special needs stuff for children in schools and her boss as they were not happy about what occured today.
I'll see if I can get Liz to pop in and explain what happened. She was there, I wasn't.

Nice lunch and banter with Ralph bestowed gifts upon him and into work.
In a shock turn up I did not have the burger for lunch in the pub, opting instead for the chicken tikka masala. The heavens did not like it and it started to rain in Dunfermline. FACT.

Andy Which perhaps explains why the heavens have opened today in a manner I have rarely seen in my time in Edinbuger as the destabilising act against reality occured here. We could be heading towards armageddon. Let's have some Nimoy. -Ralph

Today I try the new 'Philpotts' which has opened across the road from my work. It looks rather nice and does a nice line of Roast Beef.
I'm then off for a week or so to sunny Silloth in Cumbria to watch my parents dogs. Can I handle this excitement? Probably.

Speech Therapist rang this morning.
She was unwilling to amend the statement as it wouldn't then be a fair representation of Jonathan's needs.
Result.
