So does Karl, that's why I suggested he'd make a good surrogate home for him.

I would like to have just *one* River Song. Although my sister would steal it from me if I can't procure a second. And I'll end up back to nothing again. >_< Hoping beyond hope that BBTS will eventually clearance their Tardis interior set.

I cant see where on the page it says about the 2013 release for wave 3. I'll take your word for it tthough. Momentum has been lost.

I did see that post. One of the reasons why Facebook is poor for updates (for any company) is that they do tend to get lost ampngst all of the nonsense quite easily.

I've seen it now, amongst the mess of Facebook Timeline.
Early 2013 could mean Easter.
Those Football figs look rather good. Just waiting now to see what the Scooby Doo line will be like.

Cb have themselves to blame Apparently it's because wave 2 of the blind bags haven't sold out yet. Well uh, okay. I agree that they only have themselves to blame. While the wave 2 character selection was a bit better than wave 1 (which was like, 50% Doctors or so it seemed) you could still buy pretty much every figure in the box sets too in the same deco. I mean even now the new mini box sets (Lets Kill Hitler and Dematerialising TARDIS) are using the SAME figures, no redecos! Why! Just by changing a bit of paint you increase the desirability exponentially, why is this hard to understand! Maybe they were hoping people would buy a lot to get the rare figures, but they were produced in such tiny quantities there's no chance of getting one, you'd probably be more likely to end up with 20,000 Doctors. Having the 'ultra rares' be a lot more common (like, 1 every 3 boxes?) would have made it a lot more marketable if people felt it was possible to get those decos.

1 per case is the minimum any toy should be. Not being able to get a toy hurts a line.

Bought the last 6 packs of CB series 2 in Tesco yesterday at 49p each (someone picked out all the Daleks). Ended up with 4 Silents, A Roman Auton and a Cyberman.

The Dalek saucer and Silent TARDIS are turning up locally. I'm not sure about the saucer. One to get in a promo, perhaps.
John Lewis has piles of unsold Dalek Factories they can't shift at £13. I expect that to dip below a tenner when the Chrimbo toy stocks start coming in.

When we were on our way to the Lego exhibition the other day, Phil, Ralph and I were talking about how Character seem to have dropped the ball with Doctor Who Character Building, but it's easy to see why and how when you see how many other CB sets they're developing. The football series was launched in the Summer and I only recently discovered the Ben 10 sets. Last night, I discovered the rather nifty Monsters vs Zombies series (a Toys 'R' Us exclusive that can be seen at merchandise.thedoctorwhosite.co.uk/character-building-compatible-cobi-sets/ ) and today, it's been announced that Warner Bros has appointed Character as the UK master toy licensee for Looney Tunes; they'll be developing sets for that licence. Plus, of course, there's already the Deadly 60 and HM Armed Forces lines. Edit: Oh, and they're developing Scooby Doo.

The football series was launched in the Summer Yes, released after the World Cup was over! Also it's not like they've not had a chance to develop the product. We know they have the product, they've shown us wave 3 a year ago! The time to release a new wave would have been during the current run of episodes, it's common sense! There's also a lot of other common sense things they've not been doing. They've failed to realise the added value in repaints, packing exactly the same figures in with all their box sets and blind bags. Getting the SAME minifigs in a box actually decreases the value if you are going to get more than two since you're spending money on something you already have. Just making sure figures in the box sets had unique decos would have solved so many issues. Making the 'super rares' a bit more common would have helped to. As it is, they're so rare they are only a lucky extra, rather than an achievable goal. If it was possible to get the super rares by buying lots of packs (and thus stoking the 'completest' collector impulse) they'd have sold a lot more blind bags because there would be far more of a reason to risk getting doubles if there was the possibility of reward. It's not rocket science.

They've still dropped the ball on the DW bit of the licence though....

Indeed. CB seem to be concentrating on expanding their brick-building side of the business, which makes sense overall (best not to be dependent on only one or two licencees). They've fooked their DW licence though.

I long and still hold out for good news regarding DW building.
Scooby Doo stuff sounds like fun. Might have to look that up.
I won't be surprised if Peppa Pig gets the CB treatment next.

Character are showing some love for this line again by advertising it again on TV. It is a glimmer of hope all the same.
