I just came across the trailer for this film on IMDB, and it looks rather interesting.

From what I've heard, I suspect I would be unable to stomach the violence in 13 Assassins.
We got the Transformers teaser trailer before Thor.

1. Limitless (first film of the year I intend to buy) 2. The King's Speech (perfect and tear-inducing) 3. Thor (enjoyable tongue-in-cheek spectacle) 4. Unknown (great set-up, somewhat unoriginal resolution) 5. Source Code (not bad - preferred Denzel Washington in Deja Vu a few years back) 6. Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides (unnecessary and unoriginal but still decent fun) 7. Black Swan (unpleasant/disturbing and yet praiseworthy) 8. The Green Hornet 3D (enjoyable but forgettable silliness)
Pirates is the first film I would definitely recommend _against_ seeing in 3D, because it's mostly set at night in the dark, and the 3D glasses reduce the light levels too far.
A good film if, like me, you like your films long. If you like them tight and to the point, it may not be for you. And it doesn't really add anything to the characters from before, and blatantly just exists to make money out of a successful character. But that's true of many good James Bond films, so it's up to personal preference whether to condemn it for that, or just sit back and enjoy.

1 - The King's Speech 2 - Thor 3 - Source Code 4 - Limitless 5 - The Way - Nicely shot and curiously engaging. 6 - True Grit 7 - Something Borrowed - Amusing bit of fun with some characters that you love to hate in it that remind you of folk you probably know in real life. Let down by the unlikely (and undeserving!) ending. That and the dodgy scruples throughout. 8 - Hanna 9 - Tangled 10 - Paul

1) The King's Speech. 2) X-Men: First Class. By a country mile, the best of the 5 X-men films with an engaging and interesting storyline, good characters, well cast, well directed. 3) True Grit. 4) Thor. 5) 13 Assassins. 6) Limitless. 7) Battle Los Angeles. 8) Source Code. 9) The Adjustment Bureau. 10) Attack the Block. 11) The Eagle. 12) Unknown. 13) Fast Five. 14) The Way. 15) Sucker Punch.

1) X-Men: First Class - good strong characters, a strong central story and a really good cast. The best of the X-Men films by a country mile and a thoroughly enjoyable film. 2) True Grit 3) Thor 4) Thirteen Assassins - An interesting film very much of two halves. The first is a slow-paced meditation on the waning years of the Shogunate system and the necessity of men of good intent to act against the corruption of absolute power. The second half (about 45 minutes of the film) being the brutal, bloody action sequence that results as these 13 men take on two hundred in order to kill the horrifically corrupt brother of the shogun. It becomes hard to watch after a while, given the sheer amount of death on screen but that is part of the point that the film is making. Some very good performance - including a villian genuinely repulsive in his casual brutality - do make it a very interesting film to watch though. 5) Source Code 6) (by default until I see more stuff) Tekken

1 - The King's Speech 2 - Thor 3 - Source Code 4 - Limitless 5 - The Way 6 - True Grit 7 - Something Borrowed 8 - Hanna 9 - Tangled 10 - Paul 11 - Attack the Block - Occasionally funny but really didn't connect with me. Think I was most put off by the rather ham fisted way they tried to turn the kids into heroes when, err, no they weren't and weren't actually nice people irregardless of upbringing/opportunities/etc.

I have not been so bored by a film in quite some time. It's got a lot of detail from the comics and had they been given good dialogue there's a decent cast there but it's just one leaden scene after another with no sense of momentum or pace. Hard to believe it's the same director who did 'Goldeneye' and 'Casino Royale'. I had a look to check the time and saw the end was not near so walked out.

They have done a good job of translating the general idea to the screen, but somewhere along the line they forgot that they need to service a strong story and to have interesting characters. A cast that could have been decent mostly thrown away because they don't really have anything to do. 7) (by default) Tekken

1 - The King's Speech 2 - X-Men: First Class. First Class. 3 - Thor 4 - Source Code 5 - Limitless 6 - The Hangover II - Lots of silliness and fun, especially if you've seen the first one. It knows it is a sequel. It knows it is reusing the best parts of the first film. Tis good, but please don't spoil it by making a third. I don't think it can be pulled off again. 7 - The Way 8 - True Grit 9 - Something Borrowed 10 - Hanna 11 - Tangled 12 - Paul 13 - Attack the Block

I've seen X-Men: FC and The King's Speech twice now and they're both still the tops.
I doubt I'll watch so many films in the second half of the year. The trailers for Green Lantern, Captain America and Conan do nothing for me, I'm not into Harry Potter, and we don't get The Muppets until next February.

Good stuff, with James McAvoy again proving he is a future star. 10) The Adjustment Bureau. 11) Attack the Block. 12) The Eagle. 13) Unknown. 14) Fast Five. 15) The Way. 16) Sucker Punch. 17) Green Lantern. So they weren't released this year originally but I'm seeing them at cinema so enter the Potters. I missed Philosophers Stone, deciding I needed sleep more.
1- The Kings Speech 2- HP and the Prisoner of AzkabanThe best of the films probably, certainly the most stand alone it was my first introduction to Harry Potter and still looks good. 3- HP an the Order of the Phoenix Almost better than Azkaban, while almost all the naff parts of the book are gone, too many of the good bits are lost or glossed over as well. But Ginny and Neville finally get involved and Luna never fails to entertain. 4- Xmen First Class Love the 60s setting and the young Xavier and well pretty much everything except maybe for Beast who just didn't quite work. But I liked it so much I rewatched X1 and X2 for the first time since I saw X3. 5- Thor 6- Super 8 Saw it last month on holiday, great stuff if you miss your 80s kids adventure flicks. 7- Tron Legacy 8- Attack the Block 9- HP and the Goblet of Fire 10- Paul 11- Transformers DOTM Its far from perfect in so many ways but at the end of the day I enjoyed it twice and imagine I will re watch it again. 12- True Grit 13- Black Swan 14- Tangled 15- HP and the Chamber of secrets First time seeing it at cinema and much better than I remembered 16- Battlefield LA 17- Unknown 18- I am Number 4 19- Your Highness 20- Meet the Parents

I had to check that it wasn't April fools day when I looked at those links. They are really releasing a film based on the old battleship game?
I don't recall aliens in that game though.

1) The King's Speech. 2) X-Men: First Class 3) True Grit. 4) Captain America: The First Avenger. At the 4th time of trying, finally a good Cap film. Perfectly pitched old fashioned fun tosh. Very kid friendly, which is nice to see. And the show tune bit is cinema gold. Evans is a very sold Cap. 5) Thor. 6) 13 Assassins. 7) Limitless. 8) Battle Los Angeles. 9) Source Code. 10) The Conspirator. 11) The Adjustment Bureau. 12) Attack the Block. 13) The Eagle. 14) Unknown. 15) Fast Five. 16) The Way. 17) Sucker Punch. 18) Green Lantern. 1- The Kings Speech 2- Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows pt 2 Totally biased on this I'm aware of all the faults with both the books and the films but I still love the series. In many ways not the best film, but its the only one thats weakness isn't what it left out, it's that it sticks to the books first person narrative when it would have been much stronger if it had strayed. Still it wraps everything up well. 3- Captain America With this and first class I'm really loving Marvels retro vibe this year. 4- Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Pt 1 Just for the animated section. 5- HP and the Prisoner of Azkaban 6- HP an the Order of the Phoenix 7- Xmen First Class 8- Thor 9- Super 8 10- Tron Legacy 11- Attack the Block 12- HP and the Goblet of Fire 13- Paul 14- Transformers DOTM 15- True Grit 16- Black Swan 17- Tangled 18- HP and the Chamber of secrets 19- Battlefield LA 20- Unknown 21- I am Number 4 22- Your Highness 23- Meet the Parents

Evans is perfect as Cap, the villian is dastardly and has a suitably evil scheme and a nice line in pulp Science!-tech. Some genuine laugh out-loud humour to it as well. Definitely a summer blockbuster that is accessible to the entire family. Great stuf 4) Thor 5) Thirteen Assassins 6) Source Code 7) Green Lantern - 8) (by default) Tekken
