I've read the first two issues, with Beta Ray Bill. Love it! Very tongue in cheek. Creator having a good time, and it shows.

I thought you would like Thor.
It's brilliant stuff. The best run on the character and one of Marvel's best.

It is vey good squishy. Even when he stops drawing and just writes Our Pal Sal does a storming job.....
And just as you get to the end Jormumgand shows up for the all splash page issue ..... And then the Destroyer shows up!

It is one of those rare runs I can recommend to folk who don't usually read comics. Loads happens every issue!
Contrast with JMS or Fraction Thor where an issue could be read in 2 mins without missing anything.

But is that more to do with JMS and Fraction being modern storytellers and that's how things are done now, and Simonson wrote comics back when they were good?

But is that more to do with JMS and Fraction being modern storytellers and that's how things are done now, and Simonson wrote comics back when they were good? I wouldn't say so. Simonson's style hasn't changed much and JMS and Fraction have written substantial comic reads elsewhere. -Ralph

Fraction's Thor specials were decent - the one with Alan Davis especially. His run was pish though, and JMS's was decompressed storytelling at it's worst.

I have completely fallen off the wagon for digital comics. Last bought in May. Couldn't say when I last even switched the app on!

One month's FREE membership to Marvel Unlimited, use the code 'FORCE' marvel.com/theforce?Dcom=OpenHTMLComics&cid=MUStarWarsYou'll have to sign up, and either cancel before the free month is up or apparently you can cancel straight away and still use up the free month. It has over 17000 back issues and is REALLY worth it.

I just read the original Secret Wars. That was really good! I liked how everyone mistrusted Magneto and yet were fine with Colossus in their midst, a man whose main concern was that sometimes he was lusting over someone other than the underage Kitty Pryde!!! God dammit Colossus!

True, but Colossus didn't sink a russian sub and kill people doing so.

I haven't bought a comic at all in about three months (not counting stuff picked up as freebies from Comixology). It was only on the bus through to Glasgow on Saturday morning that I realised that the corrollary of this statement was that I had apparently dropped by default the two remaining IDW Transformers comics I'd been buying. I made a concious decision to drop "Transformers", but with TFvsGiJoe and MTME I seem to have just...stopped at some point without really being aware of it. Did realise this weekend as well that I have a load of Claremont X-Men comics I picked up in a sale ages ago that I've not got around to (re)reading. They have duly been dropped onto the digital device for future reading. Karl

Just checked the Marvel app, Revolutionary War is all on there. Guess I know what I'll be reading this weekend!
(seriously guys it's a great app, well worth the 6.99 a month or so, especially if you read a lot like I do!)

Oh dear. I can see some folk moving away from physical copies then. I thought the idea of a digital copy with every physical issue was a pretty good idea from Marvel. Digital with physical is a good idea as if you have to get rid of the physical copy (ie for space) or if it is damaged you still have a copy you can access. The same system works well for some companies that produce audio works.

It's an absolutely daft move.
Especially given how apparently badly Marvel have been doing of late.

Hi guys
I've been sent from Marvel a code for one free month of the Marvel Unlimited app, which now has 20k comics on it for reading. The catch is you need to sign up with a card and then cancel after the first free month or it will auto renew and charge you!
If you want it, let me know! The code expires on the 21st
