Still waiting on Animated Swoop & replacement Bump.
Now ordered a Heinlad so I can complete my Neo reviews and got a Universe Ironhide on the way.
Silverstreak and Sideswipe were ordered from BBTS. Despite beiung ordered at the same time and the toys coming in the same case BBTS has shipped them seperately and at $15 more postage than they estimated (and an extra bank charge for me for buying in $) First bad thing I've had to say about them in nearly 10 years !

They mailed me back and gave me store credit for the extra purchase and recommended I used the pile of loot feature.
That's a chunk of my next wave of Universe paid for.

I've stopped using my bank for BBTS since the bank introduced charges for international card transactions. I now use Paypal instead.

Bah, got caught on customs for my Metroplex. still, thats the first time in a couple of years, guess I've been lucky. £23, not too bad.. Managed to pick up an Animated Blitzwing from my yokel TRU, they dont seem to be getting much of the second wave in Southampton as yet, so I settled with ordering a Grimlock from Play as well.

Here: Classics Silverstreak (BBTS, see above) Neo Heinlad (£14 inc postage !) and Neo Survive & killerpunch (individual boxes) £55 the pair in postage. Seeing as a loose Killerpunch sold for £28 plus postage by itself last week I think that is a complete steel.

Well, as the half-price offer on Animated finally reached my Tesco overnight I have acquired myself an Oil Slick. (It was the only Animated Toy on the shelf - apparently they have shifted a case each of Voyagers and deluxes over the course of the day). He wasn't a toy that I had felt was entirely worth the tenner to be honest, but in retrospect I think I had judged him too harshly.
His motorcycle mode is not too bad, obviously channelling Harley's and similar hogs, and the barrels on the pannier mounts are a nice little touch - makes him seem like he is bringing the beer.
His humanoid mode fits in nicely with the spindly aesthetic established by Lockdown. His arm articulation is a bit lacking, but I actually like his very oddly shaped hands. It seems to fit in with the general evil vibe. The chain-weapon is decent as well. Ideally it could probably do with a slightly longer length of chain I think but it is a nice touch and another inclusion in the rather nice set of unusual weapons that Animated is giving us.
(For some reason the "head in a jar" that he has reminds me a lot of Mister Freeze from Batman: The Animated Series)

I've seen the Prime one at Ralph's.
They crop up on ebay reasonably frequently and sometimes from sellers with reasonable prices too!

Also, after talking about Beast Wars Snapper, I've just bought one on Ebay for a quid.
My old boss Colin would bring in loads of TF stuff when i worked with him, and Snapper was always a favourite of mine. Now all i need to get is all the other Animated toys, and Cybertron Evac.

While browsing the Doctor Who section I overheard a lass who had picked up an Animated Snarl and said: "Yeah, I'm going to get it for him" or somesuch. It stuck in my mind as I don't usually see lassies buying TF toys. -Ralph

Pretty nice toy, although i wish there was somewhere to put his club when in Dino Mode.

My Bumblebee, Prowl and Lockdown arrived from Play on Saturday. Prowl is superb and Lockdown impressively tall. I was disappointed with Bumblebee, though, as he looks too big and chunky next to most of the others. He looks good with Roll Out Command Optimus, though.
I was appalled at Play's packing: each toy sent separately in a padded envelope. (Which explained the separate shipping notices I'd been puzzled about.) I shouldn't have been surprised, as I once complained to Play for putting a Metrodome DVD box set inadequately in a padded envelope; the box was very badly dented and I haven't bought any box sets from them since. Lockdown's packaging was badly crushed and the other two were not unscathed. I wait in anticipation for Leader Bulkhead's arrival, as I had been considering getting some of the cheap busts from them.

I agree with you about Bumblebee. I was thinking of getting the Activators version to look more "to scale" with the rest of the cast on display.
When I ordered 3 Voyagers from play.com, 1 came in just a padded envelope, 1 came in a padded envelope with cardboard to support the box and the last one came in plastic packing sheets with reinforcement from cardboard. Why the inconsistency? They obviously recognise that these things will get dented otherwise they wouldn't reinforce any.

Yeah, I'll probably get the Activator sooner rather than later after seeing the Deluxe.
Now, if only they'd do a Leader Lugnut, as the Voyager has the opposite problem.

Clearly not! I've only ever bought DVDs from them before now, nothing larger, and as I said above, I haven't bought any box sets from them since the Metrodome days.

The good thing about Play, in my experience, is that because they never send anything out with tracking or requiring a signature, they are happy to replace "lost" items as they have no proof that it's been delivered.
Similarly, I am sure if you told them that deliveries arrived damaged, their insurance would cover a free replacement.
