Shrapnel doesn't speak after the shuttle toss. On Junk, it's his "Human Germ!" I think he's called out by name in the script.

The Marvel comic adaptation supports it being Scavenger.
Scavenger: "Human germ! Let us kill him slowly, Shrapnel!"
Shrapnel: "I agree completely, Scavenger!"
Scavenger: "What? He is escaping - stop him!"
Shrapnel: "I'll grab him if I can!"
It's also Scavenger who says "Human germ!" in the later IDW adaptation, which replaces Shrapnel with Long Haul.

The back of SS86 Scourge's box claims he was reformatted from Thundercracker. Is anyone still arguing about that in 2021? -Ralph No, that was never really disputed, however Cyclonus from Bombshell/Skywarp is still a hot topic in some corners of the internet. Exactly. I've never understood why Bombshell's body becoming Cyclonus was disputed when Thundercracker becoming Scourge wasn't.

Exactly. I've never understood why Bombshell's body becoming Cyclonus was disputed when Thundercracker becoming Scourge wasn't. The positioning of the bodies in the reformatting scenes. The jet is at the front for the Scourge & Sweeps, so you assume the front one becomes Scourge and the others are the Sweeps. For Cyclonus scene, Bombshell is at the front so you would assume he becomes Cyc, but that doesn't fit some people's narrative.

I guess some folks just feel that the Jets are more worthy of becoming Generals than Insecticons are. I'd imagine this stems from the assumption that Cyclonus and Scourge's minds carried over into the new forms, just as Galvatron's did, rather than their bodies being used as parts for entirely new beings. The concept hasn't been explored enough to matter either way, tbh.

Cyclonus and Scourge always seemed like brand new characters whereas Galvatron clearly remembered being Megatron. Tis an odd conundrum that the former two do not remember their past lives.

I've never really thought about that. Scourge is a reasonable match character-wise for Thundercracker, but Cyclonus is too intelligent for Skywap. He'd have to be Bombshell.
Maybe one of the parameters Unicron can set when doing this is how much his subjects can remember, or how much he augments them. Maybe Megatron was just so powerful mentally he overcame his mind being reformatted.
Actually I really like that idea. Skywarp augmented so inside he remembers his past but keeps quiet about it because his increased intelligence means he is conflicted about what he used to be.

In the post today are Siege Doubledealer as well as the cassette four pack that includes his buddies. I actually have the G1 toys of both of these as well, though I never knew who they were as a kid, as they'd come from some random car boot collection I think.
Sadly my eBay-fu has failed me in regards to Doubledealer, who is missing a few accessories. I now see this was made clear in the listing but I didn't know just how much kibble he came with. Nice bot though, and my 'cons were in need of reinforcements.
Now I need to get ahold of Rumble to partner Frenzy and this weird orange bat thing who it seems is part of the lore but I've never heard of him before. Wingthing! I ask you
Oh yeah, and the tapes came from Amazon US in the same time it took the eBay dude to deliver. Might have to buy from the states again.

I'm going to lower myself and discuss The 'Movie'.
Cyclones and Scourge would have been better as completely new characters, not made from near-dead remains. It somehow detracts from Megatron's transformation into Galvatron. Scourge would have been Unicron's, I dunno, hunter, and Cyclones is his herald. Mysterious powerful beings given to the reborn Megatron to serve him.
Right, I'm going to get a long shower now. I feel dirty.

But they are new characters. Just made from the dead remains of other robots. Just a tiny spark of life left re-ignited into something completely new.

Oh, that makes perfect sense! If Megatron was more alive than the other two, more of him remained in Galvatron. That's clean and simple.

Phil has sent me a box of curiosities, which is VERY exciting.
I have identified the first is a G2 Hooligan missing a pin that holds the two halves together. I am now experimenting with twisted paperclips to see if I can get something springy enough to stay in the hole. He is splendid! What a neat little jet. He reminds me of that TR cassette that turned into an orange plane.
I am now suspicious that Phil is trying to supply me with gateway drugs. The second figure I have not yet looked at!

I tried to source you one in time for when we did the Cyberjets but couldn't obtain a new one.... and then I remembered I had that junker. The pin is missing as are the tail fins and the missile but it's still a good toy. You might need to tighten a couple of the ball joints. The second figure I have not yet looked at! I will leave it as an exercise for you to correctly identify him. I have one more of those waiting to go to someone. I am now suspicious that Phil is trying to supply me with gateway drugs. It's Zap! Zap and not Wind Breaker because his windows are pink. Reminds me so much of Windcharger. What a solid little chap he is!
Thanks Phil!
Still working on the pin. Unfortunately one of the sockets on the side of the plane nose is broken so pins pop out of the joint when you transform him. I might be able to glue it

Box of junkers arrived from ebay. Contained within were 4 of the repaint Diaclone Constructicons, which I did not know existed (or had long since forgotten) till I spotted them in the auction. Blue Hook is lovely with a metallic blue chest. Sady Hooks leg is broken and Longhaul is missing a pair of rear wheels, but these seem fixable.
Freds Workshop says these ones have never been knocked off, but KOs still seem like the most likely explanation for them turning up in this lot. I may have to try resorting to twitter for more information.

How do these G2 Cyberjets compare to the Machine Wars jets that were unused G2 moulds - Megaplex & co? I know the Machine Wars ones had sprung transformations, but were they the same size? They look very similar in pictures.
