Legacy G2 Core Megatron - I took this to open when we went away for Christmas as something quite portable that I could fiddle with. It's really fun! I completely ignored this mould when it first appeared, but I'm glad I caught up. Nicely engineered so you get a proper turret, and is neat to fiddle with in both modes. Wears the G2 colours well even if it isn't quite the G2 design. Is the core class Shockwave up to the standards of the others? I might have to pop back to where they were on sale and pick one up if so.
Cyberverse Cheetor - impulse purchase in December that I regretted a bit at the time, but I now really like it. Lots of character. The cheetah mode is maybe a bit weak but the robot mode is great - with the level of articulation it has it's a really good swordplay poser.
Legacy Thundertron - sort-of-mistaken purchase but I'm owning it. He's quite nice actually. Imposing robot mode with a lot of character. The optional missing leg is a nice touch, but it does limit how you can stand him up, and the limited wrist articulation means he's not even in Cheetor's swordplay league, but I see him as more the one commanding than fighting. The part of the transformation where you fold his arms in to the cat mode torso took a bit of figuring out to get it in the right place, even with the instructions, but now I know how it's fairly easy. The cat mode is very nice, though would be nicer with more articulation. Lovely colours, and has more heft than I expected. Quite happy with him, though would probably be happier if I'd waited for a sale!

Yeah, the G2 Core Megatron is a fun little guy. It feels just right.
I have never owned a Needlenose before, this one is pretty battered and is missing his tailfin but I already have his nebulans. If anyone has a tailfin to sell or trade let me know. The transformation is really fun, I love the way the legs swing out and the way the arms come out and up. Both of these movements were pretty new to Transformers at the time. The head action isn't so great though.

Cloudcover has arrived. They are a rather nice redeco - although I'm not entirely sure what makes them "Toxitron" adjacent though. The checkerboarding in the air intakes is a bit odd (and not likely to stay that pristine very long I would have thought) but the rest of it is just a blue-on-blue digital camo - basically the same as used in a lot of Eastern European airforces, and JASDF, USAF and USN "aggressor" aircraft used in tactical training programs. A long way from the radioactive picallili colours of the Laser Prime repaint or anything!

It's "Toxitron" as it is based off of an unused G2 deco from back in the day, like the other toys in this sub-line.

Those are AMAZING!
Has anyone posted a G2 Megapath picture here yet? I know the embargo on talking about it has passed.

I have sold lots of toys recently so I have been splurging a bit. Kabaya Dai Atlas - I have no experience of Kabaya kits at all, but I do like building Warhammer models, so hopefully it should be fun. If it is fun I will get some more. TFC Hot Rod... bit of an impulse buy, but its a great toy. 40th Blaster and Soundwave... I think these are kind of marmite. I really like them, I think they both look great in their cartoon colours. I don't really care for the cartoon really, my world is Marvel UK G1, I never watched it much as a kid and I liked the world of the marvel comics more than the world of the cartoons. BUT! the cartoon colour toys are a real pleasure, even if they kind of cheap due to the colour swatch being more limited. Like, look at Hound, get a nice shiny TFC Hound and compare it to the cartoon Hound, and cartoon Hound just looks cheaper somehow.Perhaps the lack of chrome?

Dispatch notice for Scrapheap. Odd that I'll buy this big bike lad, but not the ones Legacy have been pumping out.

Metamorphs Gas Station is a interesting thing. My one turned out to have a KO Sunrunner rather than Greasepit. The Sunrunner is even more flimsy than the original, didn't bode well for the Gas Station, but in general its a pretty good toy. The red plastic feels a bit brittle but the blue is good. The stickers were different to the original but that's good because it helps to differentiate. Gas Station is a lot more fun than I thought it would be, with two weapons turrets. I've never had any of the MM Stations in hand before to do a direct comparison but I was very pleased with it, both as a toy and as a KO. Looking forward to getting into Metamorphs Fire Station!
I've also received a KO of a grail item, which is going to bring me great pleasure...

Metamorphs Fire Station not as good. I heard a small plastic part rattling around inside the box, which never bodes well. It wasn't too bad though, as it was a wheel from the KO Flak that was packaged instead of Hothouse. Like the Sunrunner Flak is low quality. The Fire Station is a cool toy, but the red plastic is brittle and feels cheap. It is also not molded properly so the front dozer blade doesn't lock into place in tank mode. Like Gas Station, it contained a sticker sheet that had new illustrations on the stickers and an extra pair of stickers that don't fit anywhere and don't seem to have an analogue on the original. Having never had a go on the original this was a fun toy, but mostly lacking the weirdness factor of great KOs. Would definitely like to get an original Fire Station.

Funny thing is, I have no interest in Legacy Junkions. But the Studio Series bike boys? Love 'em. Can't decide if I want more though.
I probably do.

As listed in the "How Many..." thread, some new toys are with me, but I've only had a chance to open a couple.
Before I get to those, though, I finally opened the Earthspark Jawbreaker that I got from TK Maxx for £6.99 around Christmas, and... bloody hell. I feel ripped off even at that price. I mean it's a nice little representation of the character, but it is very little, it does very little, and it feels so insubstantial in hand. If I'd paid the full £15 for it I would've been very unhappy.
Year of the Dragon Crimsonflame is... interesting. Being a reuse of an older toy from The Last Knight it does of course suffer from the odd hand feel of those figures, especially compared with recent Generations toys. But it's also solid, and with no weaknesses, and looks very nice. Happy to have this one, since it's an oddity. And I like the flight stand.
And the TakaraTomy Ultimate Optimus Primal is very nice. Very solid, very chunky. A good monkey.

Nice. I have been playing with a KO Metrotitan today, who did not come with a Metrobomb, KO or otherwise. I'm guessing that the plastic on the G1 version is better than mine. The blue plastic feels rather brittle, and the tolerances (is that the word) on the various plastic parts is a bit varied. Some are nice, some are worryingly tight, and others are frustratingly loose. I suspect that this has been built from a Metroplex that has been taken apart and scanned rather than from an original mold-frame thing. There is a lot of moldlines too, which are not present on any of my Metroplexes. Metrotitan itself is a funny sort of beast, it feels like its patched together with bits of different coloured Metroplexes. Being so used to Metroplex being block-coloured to have all the different parts of it being different colours feels weird. All in all the lack of the Metrotitan-exclusive parts means that this is 'just' a party-coloured Metroplex, and whilst that's still cool, being able to connect it to Micromaster bases would be great. I think that this won't replace the desire for a Metrotitan, but it will satisfy for a while!

I've got the KO too and basically yes the KO is just Metroplex with Metrotitan colours and made out of worse materials. The pink parts on the KO are a lot brighter too. I'll post some comparison shots once I update my display.

The KO also comes with Metrotitan's sticker sheet (I think, its not Metroplex's and the Metrotitan on tfwiki seems to confirm) and that was a pleasure to add except where I f*cked up the helipad sticker, which at least adds that authentic child-applied vibe that we collectors appreciate so much

I had to replace my stickers on my KO - after 15 years sitting in a display cabinet they had all fallen off except the helipad. Ended up getting the upgrade sticker sheet from Toyhax which is very nice! Fortunately my real one has pretty much perfect stickers so no need to replace them.

Laser Optimus is a pretty good toy innit. I had an incomplete one years back which I sold, but complete and with working electronics (which I 'fixed' myself and am proud of) it is ace. The base mode, which I thought was a bit crap because mine was incomplete, is actually great. Pleased that I jumped on a decently price auction and got a good deal.

having now had a it of a play around with him, I do think a lot of Legacy Animated Prowl's aesthetic ills could have ben solved by giving him the skinny thighs. He wouldn't look quite so stumpy then. But I guess that would hurt the bike mode...

Could resist picking up 40th anniversary Blaster when I was in FP earlier. Also my white Sixwing set arrived from Japan last week. Unfortunately 3 of the 6 are very beige and sunburnt - should have paid more attention to the photos! They still look good when combined though so its not all bad.
