Am YEARS late to the Masterpiece party, but I purchased an MP-29 'Shockwave' recently from eBay (Second hand, but very well looked after and in minty condition!) for a total of £69 inc. Postage. I'm still flabbergasted that I could get one for that cheap, when the (Inferior?) Siege Shockwave is going for upwards of £100. VERY happy with my purchase

I wish Iguanus and Bombburst were delux, like Skullgrin (although I understand he's not great). Because I could, could, maybe possibly be talked into getting them and getting the new Bludgeon to lead them in a Stormbringer kinda vibe way, 'cos I really liked that comic when it came out.
I probably wouldn't get them, but you know.

Whereas I wish that Skullgrin was core, so that all three of them could gather at the feet of Overlord on top of the detolf like a forced perspective style shot...

Detolf. The glass-sided display shelves from Ikea, I have a couple in the living room for Macross stuff, and a few select Transformers stand on the top of them.
They don't stand on top of the Dettol, that lives under the sink, so there wouldn't be room for Overlord. He is too tall.

I have broken out the Takara VS versions of Waspinator and Cheetor. It is a proper premium paint job on both, I'll give them that, and the packaging is nicely presented with the sleeve and the retro insert.
What I'm not sure about is whether I want to go all in on this line to collect the core S1 cast. They're pretty to look at, and I'm sure they'd make a lovely display, but I've bought quite a few classic Beast Wars figures this year and the originals just feel nicer and more fun to handle. I think I'm more in the mood for those kind of toys.
Might just move these on in the new year.

I realised yesterday that Devcon has quietly slipped out of stock most places, so I've just ordered a new/bashed box Amazon warehouse job for £20. Good enough.

Amazon Warehouse bashed box Devcon has arrived, and it is indeed a very bashed box. Ripped down one side and taped up. I shall have him out forthwith. Hoping none of the accessories have fallen out.

Thankfully they have not. I like this one. The ship mode feels very Chris Foss to me. Robot's nice.

Liking Legacy Pointblank more than expected, quite a neat figure overall. And the vehicle mode actually rolls on flat surfaces!

More rolling tonight! Broke open Takara Legends Targetmaster Kup, veteran of an era where we could take rolling more for granted.
It's a lovely figure, looks amazing. I never tire of Transformers with working cockpits for their little friends, and Kup's is one of the best. Interesting transformation, the legs are a clever little bit of engineering without being frustrating, as is what happens with the front of the vehicle mode twisting into the chest compartment.
Minor flaws - doesn't peg together as well as I'd like in vehicle mode, and the Targetmaster's just a bit too loose when wielded. Haven't checked yet, but I suspect it's the fists.
Doesn't matter too much though, he's so nice.

I do like that little twist they added to Kup's transf- conversion. They didn't need to do that, but they did, and I appreciate it.

Titans Return was great at not-complex-but-still-interesting transformations, at least in the deluxes.

Not a completely robot-free Christmas for this household, yesterday. The Conjunx got the Core class Swoop (which I might have known about). The Scraplet got the one-step changer Earthspark Megatron (which Santa might have told me about prior to the day). And I got the Legacy Core Class Optimus Prime and Bumblebee gift set thing.
The gift set's a nice, fun idea. Whilst I normally dislike cartoon-themed repaints of figures, the brighter paint job on Optimus Prime actually works really nicely, and makes it more interesting than the more muted colours of the original. The trailer's a nice accessory, with all the bits you'd want. And that Bumblebee is a curious little mold - not my favourite, but still fun, although I do still have to wonder which line it was originally created for. The downside though is the price - I wouldn't have paid full RRP for this, fun as the individual toys are. Luckily I didn't have to though, since it was a gift, so... I guess that's okay then.

My splurge in the ID Toys Black Friday sale arrived in a big box just at the point Mrs P said she needed present ideas for me because my family were asking. I never get robots for Christmas because 'You buy them all the time anyway', but on this occasion I just gave her the unopened ID toys box and the prices for the discounted figures within, and my relatives paid her. So for once I did get toys for Christmas, even if I had a to cheat a bit to do it!

I wasn't quite sure about the ethics, but it seemed to make sense.
Anyway, I will savour opening these. So far I've really enjoyed messing with Armada Megatron. Of course it's hard not to simply think it's not a patch on the original, but it's a nicely posable alternative of one of my favourite toys.

I had a very Transformers heavy Christmas. I unexpectedly treated myself to Tonkanator after finding him in GAME last weekend. Had I realised the amount of stickers he had, I might not have bothered...
I also got the Creatures Collide set from my parents, and Twincast that I got in Smyths for £12. Also got Tarn for the same price but I'll keep him till later this year.
Lastly, I got a Transformers Monopoly set my folks had spotted in a charity shop for a fiver.

I had a mix of Transformers stuff for Christmas from the other half: the Jurassic Park set, Rescue Bots Academy Command Center Wedge and Earthspark Deluxe Grimlock; Hallmark ornaments, namely Evergreen Bumblebee and Funko Optimus Prime; toiletries in the form of bubble bath, bath fizzers and face masks (two of each, one to use and one to keep); Rise of the Beasts 1000 piece jigsaw and calendar; and the Optimus Prime flying toy. I had the transforming Optimus Prime RC from her dad (the big, blocky one, not the super-priced animatronic thing) and a nice Optimus T-shirt from her mum.
Yesterday, I acquired someone else's present: the plush Tubz Optimus, an unwanted gift that was donated to a charity shop.

I had a mix of Transformers stuff for Christmas from the other half: ... Your other half BUYS YOU TOYS?!?! I've encountered this phenomenon before on The Hub. WHO ARE THESE WOMEN?!?!?! And why can't I have one... Mine does buy me Die Hard 2 jumpers though after exhaustively researching the issue.
