Parcel Farce gets a whopping £14. No idea why. Bigger boxes, maybe? -Nick If it was that easy to work out the reasoning they would have to change it. Can't have the uninitiated know how the sorcerers of parcel-posting perfom their magic...... Karl

I did read a story last week that the duty limit might be going up.... Indeed, from December 1st the limit is raised from £18 to about £118. Can view the regulation here. However, the question is whether this limit refers to import duty or import VAT. If the VAT limit isn't raised then you're still gonna get shafted for having the audacity to buy something from outside the UK.

Woo. Took at taxi out to a Walmart last night and returned with the last TF Animated in stock. Prime and Megatron two pack that someone had left on he very top shelf. Its awesome. Primes Transformation blew me away. Poseability is some of the best in deluxes for a long time. Megatron looks great too but his alt mode is erm well cybertronian. Still if he isnt turned into Straxus (with a new head) then its never going to happen.

My last purchases were a 1/5000 SDF-Macross from Wave dyrl I shouldn't really be surprised given your handle, should I... Which version of the Macross did you get - the first colour scheme or the rerelease from earlier this year? For that matter, what's it like? I considered getting it but it appeared a little small for the cost, and with the CMS Legioss/Tread set to pick up as well this year...... it sadly went by the wayside. A shame really, I have the old Matchbox TV-series style one but one more like the DYRL/Plus look would have been nice. Karl

I got the Movie Color from earlier this year. I have put up a few pictures on the appropriate thread in the appropriate other place But in general - I like it. Solid structure; no fear of breakage as with some of Yamato's stuff - well - except for the side guns - those I fear could snap easily because given the scale, they are really thin - so they will likely be the first to break if you toss your SDF around. Transformation is fairly complex... ARMD-1 and 2 are fun and removable - so they can go explore the galaxy on their own, or get blown up on their own... It's not actually that small - particularly the box - the box is quite big. The CMS Legios/Tread set looks great and I will attempt to get that too. dyrl

I got the Movie Color from earlier this year. I have put up a few pictures on the appropriate thread in the appropriate other place When we say "appropriate other place", would be refering to a certain forum whose initials are usually rendered as MW? Sounds like it is rather good. Didn't realise that the ARMD platforms are detachable - would make for a great display in "early episodes" kind of look. Sadly funds did not allow at the time. Perhaps something to watch for on ebay in years to come. (Funnily enough I haven't had a single breakage with a Yamato product since my 1/60th VF-1S, and that was my own fault for forcing the leg latch.) The CMS Legioss/Tread set is rather pricey, and isn't as polished as it could be. It shows some signs of CMS inexperience with transformable mecha toys in some ways. Still, as I am a big "Genesis Climber Mospeada" fan I am fairly content with it. You might have trouble getting the blue one mind you. It seems to be selling out in a lot of places. Red one has recently switched to a mass-release instead of a TRU exclusive though. Karl (now returning this thread to its regularly scheduled programming......)

Wooo... my WST Dinobot set is now complete. Had some problems with Swoop's chest, a little stiff to seperate.
The build quality has really improved over the series though, most impressed.

I agree - the only issue with him is his fist hole is a bit too small for the sword - and the sword hilt can easily break... I think I'm going to have to drill the hole wider when I get him to avoid that sad, sad fate dyrl

What a huge haul dyrl! See what you mean!
karla, those Revoltechs any good? I love the Megs and Op ones, and prob gunna tryn get a Starscream. I'm not a fan of Rodimus, but he does look good.
Additions to the Shockprowl legions: Robot Master Starscream. Yes! Another Seeker/Strike Plane set complete! Not the greatest of Seeker molds, but all three together look wonderfull!
6" Titanium War Within Optimus Prime. Been after one of these for ages. When there were the initial reports on him, and folkes here and elsewhere were saying he's all flopy, I took it on board but secretly I thought 'nah, he can't be that bad'. BUT HE IS! His arms flop down, his middle wobbles about. But despite this, I LOVE HIM AND WANT TO MARRY HIM! I've read bits of the comic, and seen pics of this version of Optimus, but up close he looks awesome. What a wonderfull incarnation of Optimus Prime. They've done wonders with the head/face scuplt. The way his mouth plate seems really tall, so you can only just see his eyes, makes him seem really dangerous. That and the way his antena on the side of his head are swept backwards. Oh very nice. Shockprowl likes. On display, he looks powerfull, dynamic. Just don't pick him up 'cos he becomes like Woody from Toy Story!

QUOTE: Die cast construction: it's a lost art. But see - actually it isn't. Die-cast construction is very much alive in the magnificent Bandai Soul of Chogokin line. Die Cast construction just seems to be a lost art over at Hasbro For my part - Robotmasters Victory Leo and Star Saber arrived. Star Saber promptly got screwed - that is I have him a hand job - no...what I mean is that I screwed his hands - I mean - with a screw driver...oh blimy!!! I widened his hole... in his hands... so that his...sword would slide easily in and not break upon removal... Crap! It's impossible to write about this any other way!!! dyrl

I don't think I'm the best person to ask about that! but I do really like them and they're flexibility its amazing I was putting those two in amusing positions for most of the day. And I figured out (for myself this is, i'm quite slow) why they're called revolvotech, its the joints the robots have on them, revolving technology I guess! aah I was so proud of myself I can list the accessories they come with if you want (starscream has megatron in gun form )

WST Sludge was easy enough to transform. Sadly, he is unable to hold his sword as the post is too big for the hole in his hand.
WST Swoop...I took him out of his box and was dazzled by his shiny wings, blue chest and nice heavy feel from the die-cast. At last, after 23 years I finally had a Swoop! It was the closest I'm ever likely to come to a religious experience. Then I tried to transform the little bastard. Would his chest slide open as indicated in the instructions? Would it buggery. It became clear it would only do so if I either broke it or scraped all the paint off the chest in the attempt. Despair was compounded by frustration as I then tried to fit his rocket launchers on the wings, but the posts were too big. By this point, I was banging my head off the wail and was swaying slightly from side to side. "Kumbaya," I sang, "Kumbaya, my lord! Kumbaya!" Such was the intensity of my grief that I opened up a psychic conduit to 1983, where Bucks Fizz said hello and told me to make my mind up, so I punched them so hard they landed on the moon. This was most unexpected. Then, the ghost of RID Ultra Fucking Magnus swooped down from the ceiling. "Revenge! Revenge!" it cried while it flew round my head, gurning in evil intensity.
"NOOOOOOOOOOOO! NOOOOOOOOOOOOO! MY DREAMS ARE RUINED!" I cried, but the black hole at the centre of my heart grew wider...wider...wider...until I fell in to its awesome embrace. There, I was tormented by Fast Action Battles, lead by General Twin-Twist and Sargeant Topspin.
23 bloody years I waited for Swoop! 23 years during which my hair began to grey, my man boobs began to form and my man-thing wilted through lack of use. Damn it! Damn it! DAMN IT!
Huff, huff. Pant. Wheeze.

I did warn you.
I nipped down to Asda today after Mass to drop off some empty bottles in one of their impressive range of recycling bins, and happened across a movie deluxe Salvage (Dropkick in red) just sitting there with a couple of Landmines and a Stockage. This represents three different case assortments going by what shows up in TRU (not to mention a wave that hasn't appeared there yet) which leads me to believe Asda gets a different selection from us.
Anyhoo, Salvage is awesome. Bags of articulation, a distinctive robot mode and head sculpt and a really interesting transformation. Could have done without the industrial sized wire cutter weapon in the back, though.

Thanks to a half price, closing down sale at Toyzone (which recently went into liquidation), I now have Cyber Slammers Bumblebee and TECH Tight Shot and Flash Bang. The TECH are actually a lot better than I expected before seeing them unpackaged.
