I've been having a look at Transform Element Prime this afternoon. This is more than enough for me for an MP Toon Prime. Ace figure. Having read up, mine is the V3 release, which includes the alternate head, frosted glass on the cab windows and some fixes in the ratchets. I've put the second head on, although the original now has a darker grey face plate and looks just as good.
TFE must be another company working under a new name, this is pretty much FT quality. Amazing work for a first figure. Their MO is really weird too - three figures revealed so far: an MP G1 Prime, a Legends Black Arachnia and a Bumblebee movie Bee. Couldn't be more disparate. It's like they're trying to fill gaps in the market regardless of what the scale or aesthetic is.

Because the 3ps have higher overhead with lower volume, the only real reason I can think of doesn't paint Takara in a good light.
Although I do admit Takara has to make their products pass multiple foreign safety tests to make sure it can be sold legally and safely in those markets.

Dunno if the plastic is quite as good as the ABS used by TT either.
Also, the BW Masterpiece figures have had a pretty decent intricate paint jobs. Winged Dragon is decent paint, but it's just one colour per part.

Interesting - in the TFW2005 Winged Dragon thread, Jiang Xing have stated the factory have upped the manufacturing cost a bit because the figure is more expensive than expected, so it's going up.
Also there are to be some minor tweaks to the second production run. They haven't stated what these are. Possibly the eyes being tweaked (the light reflection detail looks a bit boss eyed if you think they're pupils), loose panels tightening or making clipping in the tail easier?
I guess from this we can assume Tigerhawk will be £200 instead of the £165 that this was, although he will probably have less metallic paint, so who knows?
edit: Looks like the price increase is actually only CY50, which is about £5-£6.

Ooh. Looks like Warbotron are clearing the stock of the Computron they did. £131 shipped for all five from TFE at the moment. These days that scale and style doesn't really fit anything, but that's the original companion piece to their Bruticus, one of the first 3P figures I got and one I still love the look of regardless. He's been out on display since I first got him. I may have to get the Computron just to have a pair. That's like £26 a figure!
