I'm going to give this one a pass to be honest. I don't really see the point of it - from the prototype pictures it looks like it is going to severely restrict the poseability of the Classics Magnus, which is one of the toys plus points. I also don't think that it looks that good either (I'm not a big fan of the proportions of it.).
I'm happy with Classics Magnus the way he is for (what I consider) a freebie packed with Classics Skywarp he's fine.

If you think you want it and can afford the pre order I suggest getting it now. If it goes like the Cliffjumper set you wont get one at a sane price later. Ive only heard good stuff about those sets so Id hope for the same with these, but if you werent happy you'll probably be able to sell it for at least what you paid.
Personally Im not to fussed by it. Admittedly I was underwhelmed by ClaMagnus to the point of doing a full repaint and some mods, but essentially its already closer to the G1 armoured mode than the cab bot.

Thanks for the pics Tomo. Looks very nice to me. Glad I preordered. Esp like the face sculpt and the articulation in the ankles. I'm an ankle guy. Not sure 'bout the huuuuge gun though. It's as large as he is!!!

The page shows very little of the toy. It's more like a trailer (boom! boom!) for the photographs.
I have absolutely no interest in this. I would have preferred to have seen a Masterpiece version of Godbomber or a re-release of the second God Ginrai trailer (which I can't think of at the moment).

Mmmm. I guess the makers need to squeeze some more cash out of the mould, eh? Not remotely tempted. The first run are lovely display pieces and very clever, but are sadly far too fragile to work as toys. Thus, my desire for a full set of re-issue 'proper' Dinobots remains high! -Ralph |

Cybertron Phil has a photo gallery of the Classics Ultra Magnus armour here. I'm very tempted by it, though it's a little pricey for my tastes (75 dollars on BBTS when I checked a few days ago). |
