Today I have been being Doctor Ratchet and fixing the well known problem with ROTF Silverbolt's knees - also present on his predecessor Energon Stormjet.

As sold Silverbolt's knees bend in the wrong direction. Fortunately the fix is relatively trivial.

1) Unscrew the black thigh panels. 2 screws, 1 at the top, 1 at the bottom, obviously different. Open the panel up, taking care not to loose the spring loaded panelfor his ratcheted hip.

2) Remove everything downwards of this panel in one piece on both legs. Swap the legs over & reattach the front of the panels.

3) Completely unscrew the top screw on the back of the lower leg. Loosen the lower scren until the leg halves can turn in relation to each other and remove.

4) Bend the knee. Position so the knee is bent in the correct direction.

5) Peg the lower leg panels over the circular metal bar which sits in a round hole inside the leg. Reattach the screws.

Job done. Legs now work right. Transformation unaffected

I have an AOE deluxe Drift that I can't get all the bits folded into the alt mode on so I have zero chance with this. Although I'd be unbearably smug if I turned up in bot mode and I managed to get it to alt mode.

i was ready to throw my weight around until I saw WHICH Mixmaster it was. The original is my fave Constructicon.

I can't tell where the mid section goes - but the fingers form the truck seats & the cab should sit on the top of those grey bits.

I eventually got it in to vehicle mode with out instructions, but I had been trying on and off for a couple of years whenever I came across one at a carboot sale.

When I figured it out, it sort of made sense. Like I could understand what was going on in the designers mind as he sketched early concepts.

Its possible the designer hated children, or Transformers.

I had one once upon a time. I found him a wonderfully weird and entertaining movie figure, but I couldn't transform him to save my life.

I must defend him too. He is a cement mixer for starters. He has a wonderful vehicle mode and a 'different' robot mode. Yes, the transformation is fiddly but once you are used to it, it's fine.
