well joint venture I suppose, they can be ordered from ehobby or TFCC. In that sense its probably ehobbys choice to preorder now, but then TFCC should have got there arses in gear and got the subscription done in June/July like they were supposed to which would have given people some time.

Yeah, it's an ehobby New Year Special. From forum comments it seems like TFCC have to order from ehobby too. Apparently it's about $175 direct from ehobby, no idea on shipping costs. I'll probably wait and see if Robot Kingdom get it, as their shipping will be less than TFCC and I can avoid customs charges.

Well, I'm back in the club and using my credit card with the buyer protection and suchlike. The retail price of the eHobby set is Y13900, which is £109. The fan club price is $195, which is £120. That's... not bad.
Anybody wants a set get in touch.

Will take that offer up with you Nick, when I have some money. Is there a time limit to these orders?

Probably. I'll have a poke around.
They're accepting orders until the 15th of October, or while stocks last. I imagine there's a limited number they can order from eHobby.

Whats the story with the golden cassette (dunno if its Rewind or Eject). I'm kinda interested in the comic story, but the recolours aren't screaming drop a ton on 'em (Nightstalker from State Games would've been awesome to have tho).

It... looks like... the TF club no longer has this set available. Damn it. I had forgotten about this. Sorry Jim- I didn't expect it to sell out so soon. Their store is down just now for reasons so I'll check again once it comes back up.

I feel I should be impressed by the box, but well I am not. It's just a bit dull, but I feel that way about a few of the early G1 Japanese boxsets boxes.
I still dont know if I'll regret not ordering one.

I actually like that box - the way that the colours shade as you go across it is quite clever. The toys don't look bad either, but as I already have a Soundwave in regular colours it is a little bit steep for an alternate-colours Blaster and a second 'Wave.

I would have preferred if the boxart on the back was more hand painted style like the originals, but overall it's a great homage to the Japanese VS sets.
But honestly I'm only getting it for the Ratbat.
