Lew's eye problems look to have a happy ending.
Taken from the comments in his blog.
"Many thanks for all your kind thoughts mates. I've just been given the all clear for 12 months so that's a relief. There was a fear I had Glaucoma developing but my eye pressure is "borderline" so nothing to worry about as yet.
Thanks again for your messages. Will get the blog running again soon, although probably not as regularly as in previous years."

No idea, some misguided way to try and limit piracy.
Thing is I have no problems paying folks for pdf's of comic work.

They could come up with an encrypted proprietry format that you could download and view locally with a qualified key, problem with that is that such a system would cost a lot to setup and maintain - hence we get systems like this and the rather feeble comixology (lets face it - thats pants too!)

I agree.
DRM free PDF's or CBR's are the way to go. With a communal storefront for ALL publishers to use an icomics if you will is what is needed. That way you can read it on any device.

I like DriveThruComics. Pay your money, download PDF, enjoy on whatever. I'd rather the pages weren't watermarked, but it's fairly discreet. The main problem is there isn't much there and infact they are removing stuff as I discovered today when I went to by some Dredd collections. |
