Seen the display in TRU - who does the Devie voice sound like Frank.
I hope Springer & Bludgeon are used in the UK comic, theyboth look good toys.

TRU (Cardiff) has dug up an interesting bunch of items to complement the ROTF toys: Leaders For The Ages set (FAB and Classics Optimus) Protoform Jazz, Optimus and Brawl set Premium Brawl Lots more of the 3" Titanium that were there a few weeks ago.
Somebody was asking the other day if the Nightwatch Prime in TRU is the Allspark Battles version, because it's slightly different. I can confirm that it is this version.

Are there any other known variants of ROTF Sidebottom, besides the red version? I spotted a figure that appeared to have a rust coloured paint job today. However, I can't find any photographs of it on the web.

I was pleasantly surprised to find that my local Boots now sells a decent range of toys. (They've only had them at Christmastime in the past. I wonder if this is a sign of a wider distribution of toys within the company as a response to Woolworth's disappearance.)
As well as a few common Animated, they had the Bumper Battlers Jazz and Bulkhead, which I hadn't seen before. (Or, come to think of it, I may have seen them in Sainsbury's once.)

The local ASDA has just got in Fallen Dave Fast Action Battlers (£12.97*). No other ROTF stuff as yet.

*Same price as standard versions of some of these characters. How silly.

Specific character names and descriptions, yeah, but I don't think it's a spoiler to say 'I saw some toys in the local supermaket'.

Speaking of the local supermarket, Tesco has the individual, blind-packed Robot Heroes, £1.99 each. Edit: I couldn't tell from feeling the packets, which figures were inside, but from looking on TFW2005 I've got a better idea of possible characters and I see that there are at least three figures I don't have (Jazz, Soundwave and Bumblebee), so I shall have to have another rummage as soon as I can.

According to the checklist you get in the packet these are the figures available: Movie Frenzy Soundwave Metallic Movie Prime Movie Megatron Skywarp Bumblebee Shockwave Unicron Optimus Prime Thundercracker Movie Barricade Cliffjumper Movie Blackout Ultra Magnus Matrix Optimus Prime Movie Ratchet Hot Rod (note- actually written as Hot Rod, not Rodimus. Wonder if Hasbro has got the rights to the name back?) Mirage Metallic Movie Cliffjumper Hologram Mirage Starscream Ravage Jazz "Supermetal" Optimus Prime Grimlock Megatron Movie Jazz Movie Optimus Prime Insecticon (note - not called "Shrapnel" which leads me to think that Hasbro might just have won back "Hot Rod" if they are paying attention to trademark-necessitated name changes) *** So that's the complete first four waves of the original movie line Robot Heroes series plus the Best Buy exclusive metallic Cliffjumper and metallic battle damaged movie Optimus (they were originally exclusives packed with a DVD and not previously available in this country) and four out of five figures from the Wal-mart/Asda exclusive G1 Sneak Attack set (just missing Supermetal Megatron). Not a bad selection! Ooo- and you also get a tech spec bio card with your figure so that kids will get an idea of who the G1 characters are which is a very nice touch.

Ooh, that's more than three I don't have. 2 for 1 in The Entertainer, eh? I wonder if I can get up to Cardiff this week....
Darn, how am I supposed to tell the difference between Thundercracker and Starscream in the packet?

TRU had the human alliance Bumblebee and Sam in for £30 . Looked very nice, but expensive and sure to drop so I can wait. I thought at Botcon Hasbro showed an all new mould Bludgeon for the movie line, so seeing the whirl and Bludgeon 2 pack I'm a little confused. After 2 Bludgeons in 2 years are we now to get 2 in a year? Andy Spoiler tags added for ROTF toy character names - Ralph

The pricepoints on ROTF stuff in Sainsburys Drumchapel is crazy. Legends are £3 and Leaders are £40 (so cheaper than elsewhere). But Scout class figures are £10, Fast Action Battlers are £17 and Voyagers are £25! All somewhat dearer than elsewhere.
I have to laugh also at the price-point of Robot Replicas: £15! Not seeing the sense in non-transforming TF's being dearer than 3 other size classes of transforming ones.
In other news, TK Maxx has Animated Voyagers in for a tenner.

I lived next to one for 9 years! They never sold toys! Neither did any other!
Until now.
It's a conspiracy! A conspiracy!
No Superions in the Drumchapel one either.

So, is there a bigger version of Springer kicking about than the legends class, and is he any good if so? I was sore tempted by tiny Springer for some reason.
