The new "movie" stuff is Hunt for the Decepticons. 'parently the Hunt for the Decepticons is just a promo gimmick with an online element, the toy range is just called Transformers. Saw Payload, Night Ratchet and Seaspray in a Toymaster yesterday. Seaspray I might just pick up... Could almost be a Classics/Universe 2.0/Generations figure.

Which Toymaster? There's several in the country so we could do with a location. Ditto TRU etc

I finally saw some new toys outside of a con or comic shop!
Jenners Edinburgh had one solitary Power Core Combiner Bombshock 5-pack @ £22. They also had the 3 new Movie Activators in gold packaging: Prime, Megatron and Bumblebee. They sell for £11 (!) and have giant nightmarish heads. I must share the fabulous Engrish on Prime's packaging which is his bio in full: 'OPTIMUS PRIME'S BELIEF: FREEDOM IS MOST IMPORTANT!'.

'parently the Hunt for the Decepticons is just a promo gimmick with an online element, the toy range is just called Transformers. I was about to write that that I'd suddenly realised that this is the first time since 1992 that the toys have been released simply as "Transformers", without any subtitle. But then I looked at a Tomart book and discovered that some 1995 toys were released without the "Generation 2" subtitle. And then I remembered that so-called "Movie" toys were actually just called "Transformers" on the packaging.

Saw Deluxe Ironhide, Sea Attack Ravage and Jetblade in Tesco this afternoon. They were keeping the unwanted Deluxe Ratchets from the last wave company and commiserating with him.

Dirge out already!?
I saw HFTD Jetblade, Sea Cadet Ravage and Ironhide today in the Entertainer at £13 each.
The Deluxe class Ironhide looks pretty cool. Does anyone here have one, and is he any good?

I was in the area so I briefly popped into TRU Edinburger to see what was new. Most of the Animated £10 Voyagers have shifted, the Deluxes continue to gather dust. The 2-pack PCC's are dusty, no sign of 5-packs.
Amongst the mountain of not-shifting movie crap were 3 Generations wave 1 figures: 1 Prime, 1 Bumblebee and 1 Thrust. There were also a few HFTD Deluxes: white plane repaint dude, Nth Bumblebee and Sea Ravage. There were also a couple of the £60 'pull my ring' Bumblebee things.
TF stuff does not seem to shift quickly in there but the new stuff is slowly encroaching at last.

In Tesco this evening (failing to collect my new camera) I observed that the PC five-packs have arrived. They appear to have managed to beat the shelf-tags out. No sign of the two-packs as yet though.

For the first time since last November, the local Sainsbury's now have new TF stuff in! The wave 1 2-pack PCC's with shelf tag of £7.99, Stealth Force Soundwave, Bumblebee, Silverstreak with shelf tag of £11.99. There was a big empty space with a shelf tag of £26.99 for a mysterious 'Transformers diego garcia'. Anyone know what that is?
Jenners Edinburgh had Voyager Animated Bulkhead back in for £12.99, Generations Wave 1 and HFTD wave 1 deluxes for £10.99 as well as HTFD Voyagers wave 1 for £21.99.
Matalan had Animated Wave 1 Deluxes for £6.49.

My Matalan had a plethora of Animated Jetfire/Jetstorm packs for a tenner. I'm going to wait until after payday and pick one up, as I can't see them going that fast. With a spare set I can finally kitbash them into Battlestar Galactica Vipers.

I like them, very simple figures but the combined robot form adds a bit. £10 is worth it (more so if you get the US English only comic version) especially if you have a custom in mind.
