So I grabbed the last one for trading. But doubt he'll be popular at all with the superior Japanese version out there. Superior is surely a matter of opinion - I actually prefer the Classics Megatron to the Henkei version. I think that the colour model suits the mold better. Karl

Hi all - not posted for a while. Just spotted in Hamleys yesterday, animated toys in force. Overpriced though. They had all wave 1 deluxe, Voyagers and the 2 DVD pack. Nic

Popped into TRU southampton yesterday, they had the 2 pack, Prime, Bulkhead and Megs in. Picked up the 2pack and Bulkhead before managing to restrain myself!

I would appreciate that.
The reason I ask is:
Apparently the "Season 1 Boxset" of Animated is not going to include the first "introductory movie" episodes, so I thought, if the DVD that comes with the 2-pack has what's missing, I would get that instead of just the DVD. If that makes sense!

Still no sign of Animated in Glasvegas. This fills the heart of Burns with utmost rage.

I checked in the big Woolworths in Glasgow city centre this afternoon. Their TF selection included a couple of overpriced T.E.C.H. items, half a dozen Robot Replicas (wave 2), one Cyber Slammer Jazz and 227 Legend-class Megatrons. Meanwhile in Toys'r'us at the weekend, we finally got in more Optimus Primes- Movie leader, 20th Anniversary + sound base, and Cybertron. All full price. Can you imagine any other toy line suddenly re-releasing 3 year old stock at full price?

True, but I am becoming obsessed with picking up Animated the more I hear of it appearing elsewhere and the lack of it in Glasvegas! I haven't been looking forward this much to a line coming out since I was a nipper.

Perhaps it will alleviate things a little for you if I tell you what I know from my suppliers. One supplier is expecting various products during July and August; this supplier generally supplies to specialist stores; it is not always the quickest at getting the latest Hasbro stock in. Another supplier, from which I get most of my Transformers, which I find very good and quick for Transformers and which supplies to the inedpendent sector, is expecting the DVD 2-pack and Voyager wave 1 w/c 23rd June (provisionally).
Edit: an update from the second company; Deluxe Wave 1 is also expected at the end of the month.

And yet they've started showing up in (seemingly random) branches of TRU already. The receipt date I saw for the 2-pack on the computer at work (for when it arrived at our distribution centre to get allocated to stores) was the 29th of May. If there's nothing here this Saturday I fear I may explode.

I'd have thought TRU ship factory direct, rather than via Hasbro's distribution, so may well receive them earlier. In theory, they should still comply with any on-shelf date specified by Hasbro, hence sporadic appearances as stores fail to comply. (This is also happening in Walmart in the US.)
Remember last year? There were that many shops putting stock out early (mainly in America, I think) that Hasbro brought the date forward in something of a face-saving measure.

Just checked out the 2pack DVD, its only 22 mins long so I think it's a safe guess to be only episode 1

Still no Animated in Glasvegas, but plenty in TRU Edinburger: Voyager Megatron, Deluxe Bumblebee, Deluxe Cybertron Mode Optimus Prime, Deluxe Lockdown, Deluxe Prowl, Voyager Bulkhead and the 2-pack of Deluxe Earth Mode Optimus Prime and Deluxe Cybertron Mode Megatron.
Also, the majestic tat that is the Transformers Bubblegum Machine.

FPG had in the Movie Voyager Prime with no flames: First Strike And Die, it was called or something liked that. Looked nifty enough. Also had in the Movie Voyager VTOL Plane Bloke. Plane mode looked tops, robot mode as illustrated on packaging...less so.

I just had to pop to Tesco to get a torch this morning and, weirdly, in the toy aisle there was a batch of older Deluxe Movie toys, the 74 Bumblebee, Jazz, and Brawl.

I wandered passed a Toymaster store on the way home from the pub and noticed they have a 'half price or less' sale. The window display showed a Darth Vadar death star with a big 'only £20' notice on it - that's not a planet, it's a bargain!

So that's where they all went after Christmas! My branch of Toys'r'us got in one delivery of about three dozen in mid December which we sold in 48 hours and never got any more!
TF:Animated has finally come to Glasgow. It now has a dedicated endcap which, thanks to our store's standard planning orders and non-standard layout, is situated between the Lego and the roller skates. There's also a bay in the seasonal promotions section, round the back that nobody ever sees because they just walk through the front bit on their way to the store proper. We'll need to sell a lot of 20th Anniversary Primes with sound bases and Ultimate Bumblebees before we can fit them in the main display.
The 3 for 2 that started earlier this week should help shift some of the older stock, though. Current novelties include the ultra Jetstorm and Wingblade, the Cybertron & Armada in movie packaging confusingly tagged "Cybertron Voyager" Inferno and Mudflap, and 'movie voyager wave 1 08' which includes First Strike Optimus Prime and Incinerator. Yay. Also, Universe Legends wave 1.

I might need to pop into TRU and get some Animated toys. I tired of checking the shelves in my local Asda/Tesco to be greeted by the ugliness of the movie toys.
