Trust in me! They are the three best currently out.
Blitzwing is in a future wave. I forget if he's in wave 2 or 3.

Let Geoffrey be crushed beneath the feet of hoards of Animated fans. Let his decapitated head be strung up on a wall outside Nick's house. Then let the people watch and, perhaps, learn

So, do I try to make some great and terrible voyage to a TRU in search of Animated, or do I hold fire until the end of July when the wide release is due and hope to be able to find them in Tesco..... Decisions, Decisions.
In other news - Woolworths in Shrewsbury seems to be where movie Blackouts go to die. Two and a half cases worth sitting on the shelves with a thing film of dust assembling itself on them.

Worth considering picking up: I recently managed to get the last few a supplier had and they sold for up to £30 on eBay.

Worth considering picking up: I recently managed to get the last few a supplier had and they sold for up to £30 on eBay. Doubt I will be back down in Shrewsbury for a month or two - my sister will need to settle in to her new home and job before I would be able to foist myself on her for a visit. Besides - with my luck the bottom would immediately drop out of the market if I did that. I did consider picking one up, mostly because I like the MH-53, but I recalled Graham's review and others that I have read and forbore. Karl

Animated Bumblebee, Lockdown and the Prime/Megs 2-pack in FPG, surprisingly at space normal prices rather than than marked up. Meanwhile, the £90 Masterpiece Starscream USA edition remains unsold. Both of them.

I might nip down tomorrow and see if i can pick up Lockdown. If you have trouble finding him let me know, I can nip down to FP:E towards the end of the week and see if they have him in. Karl

Not in my branch God dammit!
Er... if they turn up before the 3 for 2 ends, does anyone here want either of them? I fancy both and I really should get a third figure at the same price to make it worthwhile.

Less excited about Jumbo Prime. He can join Ultimate Bumblebee and 20th Anniversary Prime in the "won't shift till Christmas/they halve the price" corner. *sigh*
I'll be all over Megatron and Bulkhead when they come in, though. Like I said, anyone else wants one- do give a shout.

Leader Megatron does look nice but at that price is very much a 'try before I buy'!

Isnt prime the voyager figure. I didnt see that, but if it comes in during the offer I might be getting Mudflap and other. THe one problem with 3 for 2 is the lack of £40 TFs.

The Animated Activators have started showing up in Toys R Us! Bumblebee, Starscream & Bulkhead (who seems to be in every assortment except the Deluxes). They are pretty detailed and poseable toys for the price (£4.99) and are basic sized plus they have the 'Flip-Changer' gimmick. Bumblebee is a better scale than his deluxe version. Starscreamis pretty cool too - and might save me some money as opposed to buying the Voyager.

Animated Voyager Optimus Prime has appeared in FPG. It is somewhat...diminutive in size, taking up less than half the box space and considerably smaller than Voyager Bulkhead. When you pick the box up, it tips to one side in your hand as the full right hand side of the box is completely empty! Hmmm. I predict the shelf-warming event horizon for this incarnation of the 5 Prime toys available in Animated.
TK Maxx has Hasbro Masterpiece Prime with sound base for £30. Also: the movie Bumblebee role-play weapon for £8 and the tat-mongous Movie Super Soaker for £15.

I think the main problems is that Prime isn't anywhere near as awe inspiring as previous incarnations. Ask any kid who they'd want to be out of the new Autobots and you'd hear either Bumblebee or Prowl. They don't care that this character is arguably more interesting.
Thats my opinion anyway.

Ask any kid who they'd want to be out of the new Autobots and you'd hear either Bumblebee or Prowl. They don't care that this character is arguably more interesting. Prime has always been a bit of a disappointment to me to be honest. He is required to look broadly similar in each incarnation which limits the potential surprise and interest in the toy. I find myself thinking, "Oh look, Prime is a red truck yet again". There are clear marketing reasons for keeping him in a recognisable form, but I wish they would mix it up more often with a fire engine or some other well built vehicle.
