Forgot to mention this as we were wandering around in a post-AA stupor, but when Andy, Ralph and myself were in John Lewis in Buchanan Galleries in Glasgow we found a solitary Animated Blackarachnia, which means that she and Ratchet ought to be available in John Lewises nationwide. Hopefully.

Animated Deluxe Blackarachnia, Ratchet and Bumblee, and Voyager Prime and Bulkhead have been observed in Tesco in Falkirk. Representing the first animated toys in Falkirk outside of Argos.
Blackarachnia looks decent, a nice reinterpretation of the look of the Transmetal2 version. (If you like that sort of thing).

Local Woolies has the first wave of Animated deluxes and voyagers in. Nice to see the line rolling out into more stores (not everyone has a TRU or Argos nearby after all).
Saw the Universe voyager repaints in A1 Comics. The colours on Blaster and, um, cement mixer bloke, look quite nice in the plastic. Especially the latter.

We had some nice goodies in at Toys R Us today - the Universe Deluxe toys (Sunstreaker, Octain & Prowl) as well as wave three of the Animated Voyagers - Grimlock, Lugnut & Blitzwing! These should be showing up at other Toys R Us stores about now too.

Sunstreaker and Tank... Octane are now mine.
It's probably old news, but I was surprised to see the Erector-inspired Mudflap and Inferno (Armada Red Alert). The former looks fantastic and is likely to become a future purchase.

Everyone needs a giant-sized Erector.
For once, I mean no innuendo.

£12.99, same as everywhere else that's stocking them. We haven't sold any since I put them out last week. I think the ultras will do better once they come out. Probably doesn't help that Argos have taken 25% off all Animated toys (I find out two days after I buy 3 voyagers from TRU, dammit!) this week.

Cheers Nick!
And yeah, I nabbed leader Bulkhead and Megatron from Argos today to take advantage of the discount.

I had no idea Argos had a promo on. Mmmm. Leader Megatron is more reasonable at that price.
I would expect Universe deluxes to be slower to shift. They are £3 dearer than Animated deluxes for no discernable reason to the average punter and lack exposure in a cartoon show. Universe may do better in the run-up to Chrimbo.

Toymaster in Inverness have the three "Transformers Universe Classics Series" deluxes in stock for £12.99 each.
I _almost_ picked them up, but there were a lot of "dirty" marks on the toys, particularly Prowl's bonnet and Sunstreaker's roof.

I wasn't aware of the price cut on Animated at Argos. Hmm, Megatron (or Super Megatron as I cannot resist the urge to call him) does look a lot more appealing at that price point.
Graham, were they actually dirty marks or was it a bad paint job? I only ask because the paint apps on my Sunstreaker seem to be a bit erratic in places and I'm curious as to how widespread it is.

ooooo I want octane and sunstreaker I will have to look in the toy department for those animated goodies then

The first time I saw Universe Prowl and Sunstreaker on shelves, I passed on them due to very dodgy paint jobs and lots of dirt, especially on Prowl. Nick's Sunstreaker at AA looked ok, though Prowl had a very sticky roof that put me right off the toy.
Very much figures to pick up in person so condition can be checked, methinks.

Prowl's got some sort of genuine problem with the paint on his translucent parts (the roof, the doors, the sides of his bonnet and bumper). It turns sticky with repeated handling - it seems to have something to do with humidity. 'tis bad.

Ah. So it's not just Nick's then. That's a shame. It's a nice toy otherwise. If I pick one up I may try the Japanese version instead then.

I also read somewhere that the rubbery Pretender Shells of the Dinoforce go slimy with age. Nice.
I used to have a Classic Heroes Jazz and his roof paint went all weird/grey/sticky after a while.

A toyshop (which may be a Toymaster??) in Trowbridge has Animated Leader Prime. (As well as the expected Battle Begins 2 Pack, Deluxe BlackArachnia, Ratchet, Bumblebee, Voyager Megs, SS and Bulkhead).

I found an Attacktix Starter Set in Cardiff's The Entertainer on Saturday that I hadn't seen before. It contained original flavour Optimus and Megatron along with Energon Landquake (Landmine repaint) and Cybertron Skywarp (Starscream repaint). There was only one on the shelf (at least, until I got there ), at a price of £5. Also, Bumper Battlers in Toys R Us, no price label in sight. These have unusual Try Me packaging, allowing trial not only of the speech buttons, but also the transformation. I've noticed a couple of shops including Tesco have put SWTF up to £14.99.

I failed to find Grimlock or Snarl in Asda, Woolies, Sainsburys, Argos or the Earlyu learning centre. The newly returned car is making a trip to the large version of the last 2 plus TRU on Friday.
Need Animated Dinobots

Talking of dinobots, I was supremely disappointed with Grimlock. It looked fantastic in pictures and I was really looking forward to it, but in the plastic...no.
Colours don't work, dinosaur mode has a tail that is too short and a huge gap in the belly from which the robot head pokes out. The arms move side to side rather than up and down.
Robot proportions just don't work, arm movement is crap. Head sculpt ruined by a seemingly stuck-on oversized jaw.
I wept! Wept I tell you! 'Tis the only really crappy Animated toy I've played with.
Thankgoodness I was using Nick's 'try before you buy' service.
