Part of the general trend away from the packaging being part of the play experience. Toy packaging does not tend to include bios, comics etc as they did in the 1980's.

Very true and very sad.
Tech specs and a decent bio would be so easy to do but add so much.
Why don't Hasbro think kids want tech specs these days? Those collector cards are pump.

Damn you and your perfectly logical and sensible reasoning!
I want character in my toys!

Botcon 97s set has been one of my very favourite things ever since I saw it in a magazine in 97. Its entirely down to the box. If any of the other beast wars toys botcon released had had similar boxes I would have had to track them down too.
I supposer i should be grateful.

Yeah, but that's a special case. If they put Transformers in '84 style packaging we would lose our minds and pay over the odds too. . I've always wondered why they haven't done this - retailer shelf space display requirements or something? The packaging of the original toys was part of why they were so successful. Shelf space may be a factor. Remember how small reissue Hot Rod box was back in 2002? Prime, Magnus and Starscream too. Then again the rest of the reissues came in the book style boxes which were huge for what was in them. I still think a G1 style packaging at least on the front and sides would work even if the back has to be dedicated to photos of the toy.

The Encore line did that, right?
But no, I would not spend £25 on a deluxe, no matter how big and nice a box it may have.

Thank the lord. Okay, so in my local one the estimated in stock is either tbc or next week. Which is interesting for the deluxes which are in the same case. Good news anyway.

Broadside is £32 shipped on Amazon.com at the moment: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01IMZY8MAI caved. £32 is too much for a Voyager, but Nick and Phil have me worried now this wave may have passed us by.

A pre-sighting more than a sighting. I contacted ID to ask whether they're going to be able to restock TR wave 4, and they said they'll have the Deluxes, Broadside and Sky Shadow in a fortnight, Legends just after.
Phew. So just Shuffler & Repugnus to find.

ID say the rest of the wave will be up for preorder soon, and that Hasbro Trypticon will be too. They say they have conflicting info on his release, but it's either June 1st or July 1st. Which seems early in both cases!

amazon.com currently have Leader Sky Shadow going for £55 shipped and taxed to the UK.
Finger hovering over buy button... I can't see it being any cheaper than that when ID get them back in stock, and what chance now of this appearing here? It's a gamble to hope it turns up in the £30 B&M type shops, but it could?

Octone and Blitzwing two pack up for preorder at ID now for £60, which from them would be free shipping. They say due in July.
Glad I kept a watch on them for Wave 4 restocks, they've only got Perceptor left now. Fortunately my Sky Shadow, Topspin and Perceptor are now in my hands.

I'm suspicious about my Roadburn, but that was a different seller. That is very cheap though.
