Same here.
Revoke Article 50, then a new General Election and then a new, legally, well run and informed EU Referendum (if you really must).

I think an informed referendum is the way to go. I don't like the result of the 2016 one at all but I do respect the result. However, it was an advisory vote so now it should be put again with the proper details so people can make an informed judgement.
I'm not a fan of referendums for complex issues but if we must have one then do it properly.

The one redeeming feature of the politics of the last week is we are still EU citizens.

Selfishly I am glad at least brexit doesn't look like it's happening on April 12th. Those gammon-faced Tory twats would have ruined my birthday from here on in.
TWATS.

Just postal voted in next week's council elections. Given that the runners and riders were Labour, Conservative or a Kipper, the choice was simple.
The European elections in a few weeks time could be a more complicated decision. Can someone remind me of the voting method as I seem to recall it isn't first past the post.

Anyway, I think in the EU elections it's best to forget about tactical voting and just treat it as a referendum on Brexit policies. Martin

Apparently its PR but in England at least its weighed in favour of larger parties somehow.
Will have to wait and see where Labour and everyone else land.
Currently torn between voting to minimise Ukip types winning or treating it as a referendum and voting for the most remain based candidates.

Greens are pro-European, and currently have a multi-national presence in the European Parliament. LThey’re also in favour of a second referendum - Caroline Lucas has been calling for a people’s vote for some time now (although you’d be forgiven for not having noticed it from the media’s coverage).

Thank you for the clarification, I thought that was probably the case.
Lib Dems not done great in the SW last few Euro elections, but a consistent Green presence. I think that helps clarify which way to go!

I am bemused at how losing over 1000 seats is being declared as "TOTAL VICTORY!".
Madness.

I'm fairly certain that no matter the result, it'll be a clear sign that voters want the losing parties to do more of whatever it is they're doing that caused them to lose.

Very angry to receive Farage election bumf in the post. When I was a kid, far-right racist bullshit was seen as beyond the pale. Now it casually comes through the letterbox.
Very much looking forward to voting in the European Elections. I may never have been so interested in voting in anything before. Don't let the racists win!

I am deeply suspicious of any moves to "need to have additional ID to vote". Mostly because the country where I've mostly observed it in action has been the USA, where it is unashamedly a device to reduce the numbers of BAME, and poor urban whites voting (statistically they tend to be more likely to be Democrat voters whereas the rural poor are more likely to swing republican it seems). And given the number of people lower on the socio-economic scale I dealt with who had difficulties getting "acceptable" (to the PsTB) identification I have no reason to suppose its effects would be any different here.
Had a leaflet from Labour through the door today. I did read it, out of curiosity. It seemed to be all about voting for them because they want to change British economic and social policy - so basically they are campaigning for a UK general election that is not happening. There was something about voting for them because they wanted there to be a general election because that would somehow alter the situation regarding our inability to agree to exit the EU gracefully. It was at this point I shrugged and laid it aside - we've already had a General Election prompted by that, it shows no signs of having helped any. It is not exactly calculated to win them my vote for the EU Parliamentary elections, given that they don't even seem to be aware that that is what the election is for...

Farage leaflet through the door here too. Addressed to me not Mrs M. Reports online seem to be suggesting these going mainly to males in households. Even when they're too young to vote.
