It kinda seems that molds made for translucent plastic can't be cast with solid plastic, but solid plastic tools can be run with translucent.

I... I want to say that's wrong but I can't think of any examples where translucent plsatic has become solid in a repaint...

Ooh, I can't dig it out now to check, but didn't the G1-ish redeco of Energon Ghost Starscream replace the transparent plastic with solid rather than painting over it?

What about Railracer? Wasn't the Hasbro one solid and the Takara one transparent for the window pieces? I know my JRX has transparent pieces for the sides of the trains which are painted over round the edges, but I'm sure the Hasbro ones were solid plastic.

Railracer... might be. I kinda completed him theough a mix of CR and RiD. So I don't know. I wanna say that you're right, and he's the exception, but I just have never had a complete set of both.
The Energon Energon Starscream (the formal title of the G1 repaint) uses translucent plastic too. Some is visible, some it painted over to appear solid.
I don't know enough about the energon weapons, but I do think the "solid" ones were just really smokey translucent plastic?

The ONLY example I know of for sure is Movie 1 old camero Bumblebee's windshield and roof. Hasbro has only ever released it solid, while Takara usually did translucent.
But I didn't bring that up as the flaw in my theory, because that itself has too many variables-
There may be two seperate molds for the roof/window.
Or it may be a "solid plastic" tool that Takara just chose to run by itself with translucent plastic.

Edit: It seems Hasbro's E. Energon Starscream is indeed solid plastic, while Takara's is translucent.
All other uses of the mold are also translucent.
Hasbro Rail Racer uses solid plastics, Takara's uses translucents.

It seems these are pretty much the only guarenteed exceptions to my theory.

TF related to two children's magazines with a nominal release date of July 1st.

TF article is one page of color. However, the contents are only the announcement about "convoy command box" of crowdfunding.

Information on the contents of the set and the reservation period is published, but there is no description on the price.

The application period is two months from July 1st to August 31st.
Achieved with over 2000 applicants.
Shipping is planned after late February 2020.

It is emphasized that there is no plan for general sales.

The contents of the set are as follows.

1. Convoy Golden Trophy: A trophy made of the original convoy gold plated. The motif is a souvenir distributed to related parties in 1987 as a TF 3rd anniversary. The pedestal is attached, but unlike the product at the time, the nameplate seems to be the "TF 35th Anniversary" specification.

2. S.T.A.R.S. member set: It seems to be a reprint of the TF fan club membership set that has been recruited since 1985. According to the description, "command center, member card, batch or poster, special pad" will be included. The photo shows the command center and member card. The member card seems to be the version distributed at the beginning.

3. Transformers Complete Works: No information other than titles.

"Convoy Command Box" Cloud Funding Acceptance started. The deadline is August 31st.
Mr.Tereb-kun's crowdfunding project, "Transformer 35th Anniversary Convoy Command Box" application acceptance has been started.

The reception period is from 11 am on July 1st to August 31st.

The price is 16,800 yen for the regular version. Matrix set of limited 500 sets first arrival is 21800 yen. Matrix set is a story that the name of the applicant is described in "super-complete works". (There is no other difference)

In addition, it seems to be able to support the amount of money more than a predetermined sales price.

If the number of applicants is over 2,000, the plan is established, and if there are over 3,000 applications, additional returns are also available.

The contents of the set are as follows.

1. Convoy Golden Trophy A trophy with a pedestal in the gilded version of the first convoy. Convoy can not be removed from the pedestal.

2. S.T.A.R.S. member set. A reprint of the TF Official Fan Club membership set, which had been recruited since 85. TF command center, member's card, TF badge, poster, transformer book are described as set contents.
