I have completely lost track of upcoming trades, mostly since the Marvel Masterworks forum had its disastrous upgrade and is now near unusable, so I'm glad you are posting the interesting stuff here!
I already have most of those Surfer issues at least twice, but it's still hard to resist somehow... And that Thor volume has some decent stuff in it.

The only Surfer appearance I can offer you is Marvel Comics Presents #50.
Personally I'm hoping for an Epic of the Dematteis / Muth run, there's some really under-appreciated stuff there.

OK, some Silver Surfer help required: v2 Freedom 1-14
v5 Thanos Quest 39-50, Annual 3 v6 The Infinity Gaunlet 51-66 Annual 4 How do you divide 15-38 & annuals 1 & 2 between two volumes? What's padding it out? I make that, at most, 28 issues (24 from the series, 2 each from the annuals) worth of material. The same month as Surfer 38, www.mikesamazingworld.com/features/newsstand.php?type=cover&month=6&year=1990&publisher=marvel&sort=alpha&checklist=null, Marvel Fanfare #51 has the Surfer in it too. 29 issues The same months as Surfer 18 & 19, www.mikesamazingworld.com/features/newsstand.php?type=cover&month=12&year=1988&publisher=marvel&sort=alpha&checklist=null, Parable 1 & 2, came out, 31 issues. Beyond that .... I need 9 more issues of material to get me to 40. Any offers? Ah! Silver Surfer HC Judgement Day www.mikesamazingworld.com/features/comic.php?comicid=65427 3 issues worth there!

In a similar vein I've been looking at FF v18 & 19. www.mikesamazingworld.com/features/series.php?seriesid=3649&page=galleryI think they look *something* like this: V19 FF 308-321, Annual 21 (Evolutionary War, same month as 318), Hulk vs Thing Graphic Novel released same month as 308. 19 issues. 322 is the start of the Inferno crossover, so makes sense to have that in the next volume. V20 FF 322-333, Annual 22 (Atlantis Attacks, released same month as 332) and Avengers 299-303 (Reed & Sue in the Avengers, released the same months as 322-326) 20 issues.

Travelling man had a massive sale on 50 & 75% off respectively, bought £182 of graphic novels for £78.
some includes - Revival 1-3 Eclipse 2 Crossed 15-17 Lazarus 1-3 Drifter 1-3
all fairly unique comics although if anyone is unsure of anything to read I will stress revival and eclipse are amazing. lazarus and drifter are cool and crossed is so insanely violent and weird but enjoyable!

I think the only trades I bought in 2017 were HC partworks! Read a few trades from the library but I can't think of any non-UK newsstand HC's that I bought!

A thought.
I have long felt trade paperbacks are very overpriced, especially in the last couple of years due to economic issues and I have also been trained now by partworks that a tenner for a hardback is just right for collected material. I just can't see myself going back to spending £15-20 for a paperback trade of 100-130 pages (ish) very often when I can get hardback collections for a tenner that are usually around 150-200 pages.
For example, Rebellion has a really good trade program but I find myself now holding off on purchases as I wait and see if that material will end up in one of the two 2000AD related partwork book series. I was thinking of getting Rebellion's trades of Nemesis but that series is coming out in a more durable and cheaper format in a partwork series.
For other series I have been using the library.

Couldn't find it in my Panini stocking news agent and WHS in town was off limits due to Christmas shoppers so I ordered in as Nemesis bk4 is the one I really remember liking.
I'm finding I'm buying less and less that isn't a doorstop Epic Collction or similar (Complete Collection, Dredd Case Files). The last Ultimates volume, a month old, sits unread. I've been buying every Marvel Universe Epic but am questioning if I really want some of them (Punisher, Doctor Strange, Black Panther)

I like a big slab of comics to read.

At the time they finished, Power Man & Iron Fist was one volume shy of the full lot, ditto Defenders, Marvel Team Up 2. FF was a couple of volumes shy of connecting with the Byrne books, Avengers 1 or 2 shy of the Stern books. I wish they'd done more. In fact I wish they'd done more of those than things like Wolverine, which had p!$$ poor repro in later volumes, and Web of Spider-Man - which was way ahead of the other two Spider titles and shouldn't really have been started till Marvel Team Up finished, which was the book it replaced.
Several Essentials will be coming off the shelf when I get back to Swindon to read stories I have bits of in Marvel UK O Vision.

A lot of my Essentials have been sacrificed to the Gods of Space over the years. Although my Godzilla volume remains, and is in no danger of going anywhere. It was a fantastic format though - it represented good value for money, and was a sufficiently large chunk of reading that it was attractive in comparison to the digital option. By contrast the average trade is now an issue less than they used to be on average, as well as being more expensive. I will admit that it has put me off.
I think the last physical trades I bought were over a year ago, from the Oxfam bookshop in Edinburgh. To be honest, for me now, a physical trade - whether hardcover or softcover - has to be a very good package for me to consider picking it up, given the limited space I currently have (and will have for the forseeable future).

Due to the fact that they were cheap and no graphic novels available I've been picking up single issues of New Mutants when I can over the past year and I have about 20 to 30 left to get though I won't buy the highly expensive debut issues of Cable and Deadpool but settle for the cheaper true believers reprint issues. As for collected editions I treated myself to He Man & The Masters of The Universe Mini Comic Collection. My first introduction to comics was through the mini comics included with the figures though I was that young at the time I didn't pay that much attention to the mini comics.
