Shatter & Dropkick would be wonderful - and they'd actually make them as Triple Changers.
Oh no. I've just had a thought. What if they do Retro Unicron and Arcee!? There is that Reaction Unicron figure that draws from the prototype toy after all and choosing that design must have come from somewhere...

How big was the original Unicron toy(s) supposed to be? Metroplex size or Scorponok size ? (I doubt it would have been on the Fort Max scale).

It always looked pretty big to me. Not quite Fort Max big, but would have been the second biggest TF of all time until the Supreme Class.
Unlike the much more interesting BWN Unicron, which would have been the biggest BW, but was still surprisingly small.
Personally, if they were gonna haslab a dead unicron mold, I'd rather the BWN one. I'm (surprisingly) very happy with Super7's Re:Action prototype Unicron as a "stand in." I think I'm more interested in it this way.

We were talking about that one on the Zoom call only the other day. Bogatan saw the prototype at a Botcon, I think he said it's Armada Unicron size.

He is looking the other way because Unicron is still changing.

Hadn't quite appreciated how much of a hefty lad that Unicron was until seeing that picture...

Comics and Cocktails still have Hot Rod in stock if anyone is swithering.
My Hot Rod will be delivered tomorrow, due to the Royal Mail strikes (which I wholly endorse and support).

I am still swithering. He looks good, but I have no space for any G1 stuff so he'd just sit in a box in a cupboard.

You wouldn't put Hot Rod in a cupboard. Not in those colours. After the chat on the call on Saturday, I did this quick mock up last night as I think if Hot Rod is getting some love, so should the auld fella.

Nah, happy with the grey plastic actually.
It's a cracking toy, but I did always like Hot Rod and it's amazing what a new coat of paint can do.

Had a shot of Phil's Pink Rod. It's good! Feels very solid and well made and the colours are lovely. Definitely picking one up when it drops below £30.

Not liking this trend of grey plastic replacing chrome (grey plastic instead of silver is one of my bugbears)

Not liking this trend of grey plastic replacing chrome (grey plastic instead of silver is one of my bugbears) Begone, heretic! Didst thou witness parts of silver before the gaze of the mighty Bow of the Sun? Nay! Speakest then thou not such words here! But yeah, totally agree with you there - those molds need that silver. For me, anyway. Still, nice that it's something different to a see- strike jet, Soundwave or Optimus Prime cab.

It's the cartoon accuracy tht ruins my interest. Like, this isn't even an anti-sunbow thing... These flat bland colors with none of the original sticker details just makes it look like a bootleg, when compared to the vibrant glossiness and deep colors of the original, and it only makes this mold look really bad. And Cartoon Hound's color palette isn't great in general. All toys that lean into it never end up looking great.
