So is this a newly moulded trailer or is it reusing the shell of the missing link one with a more traditional repair arm? Original, or a remake thereof. It has the holes for the repair arm that Missing Link doesn't

I'm having exactly the opposite reaction to everyone else I think. I'm looking at it and seeing a literal re-release of a thing I already own and thinking "easy pass". :-)
Sure, it has undamaged exhausts, but I've still got the broken bits of my First Convoy exhausts, and if I was that worried I could just roll him into the construction desk and fix them back on. Besides, he doesn't have the alternate translucent fists and things that my Convoy has now. :-)

Missing Link scratches the nostalgia itch that this one is trying for.

It's good to have options for a G1 Optimus Prime in the 40th anniversary year. I'm losing count of them!

In terms of a toy released with the 40th branding, has there been anyone other than Optimus?

Not sure about the shrunk tech specs either. That has been a given on such releases for many years now, alas. -Ralph

I kind of think that the pros and cons of the trailer on this release kind of cancel themselves out.
On the one hand, they have gone to the trouble to remake the 40 year old trailer with most of the original play features intact. On the other hand they have given it a much blander deco than the original, without the stickers that gave it visual interest.
