I'm sure I heard a rumour a while back about the original 5 Dinobots getting a reissue? I there any substance to this, does anyone know?

I think that came from an Australian toy show, the rumours from which seemed to be a bit patchy. As far as these platinum releases go the rumours always focussed on Insecticons, Cone Heads, Blaster/Perceptor & Trypticon and those appear to be what we've had with nothing solid to suggest any more.

I think the rest of the stuff that came out of that show has proved good so far.
So I suspect the Dinobots might be still on.... We shall see.

That would certainly help with getting a Swoop. Definitely taking that with the proverbial salt pinch however.

Was there any news coming out of BotCon of any new Hasbro reissues? Like a 5-pack of the Dinobots, for example.

..... so far.
It's notable that nothing was said about ANY exclusives at Botcon this year. No G2 Aerialbots, no reissues, no Clash of the Transformers, no Masterpiece.

Also encouraging for Perceptor, Blaster and Trypticon finally getting a UK release!
(Blaster's tapes, in the Blaster & Perceptor set, have never had an official UK release but were available as Chinese grey imports in 94/5)

So...getting an imported copy including shipping from Kapow was over £20 cheaper than buying from a bricks-and-mortar store???
BUY BRITISH!

I would consider that set for £45, but I've already got Thrust so if I was spending £90 It would go on G1 originals. Mind you Kapow still have this set in stock for £70 So no one should be considering the TRU price.

(He says, still waiting for FoC Metroplex in a sale.)

Perhaps it's something to do with the route they take round the world. I mean, we know if we want Japan/China originated figures it makes sense to buy them from Robot Kingdom and not BBTS, because by buying them from BBTS you're paying their import taxes/shipping on top of what it costs you to get the figure from the US to the UK. Going to Robot Kingdom cuts out the middle man so it's always cheaper.
Kapow are obviously getting their shipments direct from China, so these ones appearing in TRU have probably taken a more circuitous route to get here.

Also encouraging for Perceptor, Blaster and Trypticon finally getting a UK release! Which got me thinking ..... Have any of the reissues that made it to the UK been of toys we missed in G1? Technically Stepper, Godbomber and Godginrai, but they were Japanese only toys originally. I don't think any the Predaking Platinum made it out here.

£90 for that Conehead set in Toys R Us? I now feel like I got it for a steal for £50 from A1 toys at Auto Assembly now. I haven't opened that set yet though.
