And after having tracked down the issues they turn up together on eBay ! I love buying back issues, and to be fair I got 8 of these in one hit but getting them all at once would be cheaper (FYI The Thing hit list looks like 27 28 29 32 33 34 35 36 at the mo) The fight goes well. 32 35 & 36 found. There's a 27 on eBay but I need to get 3 issues I've already got to own it amd is a bit pricey for one issue. There's another lot I'm bidding on with an issue I need - I know this from the cover - but I can't ID the issue ! EDIT: Having trawled eBay US I've discovered that this issue is 27 too ! Result. The lot is half the price of the others.

Ah Cam Kennedy. I do have a great fondness for his art. I only have very dim memories of "Light and Darkness" war sadly though. I remember thinking it looked beautiful, but I can't remember a thing about the story at all. Karl Did you read his Star Wars comics ?

Read "Dark Empire", and was very fond of it, had great sense of style and scope to it. Did he do anything else?

Isn't there a sequel Dark Empire II ? I can't recall if he drew Empire's end too.

There is indeed a Dark Empire II - it's lovely to look at but the story is a bit on the bollocks side. Cam Kennedy didn't draw Empire's End, recognising that Star Wars needed to maintain it's Scottishness they tapped Jim Baikie to do both issues. It also looked nice but was bollocks.
Cam Kennedy went on and did some of the Boba Fett stuff, which was lovely to look at and also fun to read.

There is indeed a Dark Empire II - it's lovely to look at but the story is a bit on the bollocks side. Is that the one with the "Cigar of Doom" (or Galaxy Gun or whatever they call it)? I'm trying to recall if I have read "Dark Empire II". If I have it has been entirely wiped from my recollection. I'm sensing a pattern here..... Hmm. Cam Kennedy on Boba Fett side-stories, could be interesting. I'd be curious to see his take on Fett (it can't be any worse than some of the nonsense that has been done with Fett, and I would have expected it would be better than a lot of it). Karl

I've got the first special somewhere called Bounty on Bar-Kooda, written by John Wagner. It's got Hutts, fraudster magicians and Boba Fett.
Nuff said!

The most recent Boba Fett specific trade, Man With a Mission, has a Cam Kennedy story.

oooh, I see an issue of Marvel Two In One I want is up on eBay. In fact I think it's the only appearance of Alpha Flight prior to their series I'm missing.
Did the Alpha Flight issue of Machine Man (Sasquatch, Aurora, Northstar - concurrent with Guardian, Shaman and Snowbird being in UXM 139 & 140) ever get reprinted in TF UK ?

IIRC it's issue 18. Given that the backup strips take 3-4 UK issues to complete you'be looking at issue 50 something I think.

Did they feature in the BWS Limited series? That was running around #50 and reprinted post #300 and I don't recall Alpha Flight showing up. Unless they were in the Steve Ditko stories that ran pre #30?

There's a back issue place next to A1 comics. I'll nip in there on Thursday.

Thing 28 29 33 34 Marvel Team Up 128 (Captain America) Power Man & Iron Fist 89 90 91 Look what I won. Takes care of the issue of that I needed. Oh look there appears to be a spare copy of TIO 99 in there. I think we know someone who'd like a Matlo written Rom appearance don't we ?

Spent far too much money on back issues this week. So far I've read Marvel Two In One 84 (Alpha Flight) and 92 (Jocasta). I used to own 84 anf 92 I' read a bit of 20 years back in the big ben comic.
The Askanison Limited Series proved worse than I remembered it. All the good stuff - Zero and the Professor turning up - are in the first issue.
I bought several Vision and Scarlet Witch issues (12 issue LS) in Orbital on Monday - already owned 1 & 2 as they crossed into WCA when it started. The rest are coming off eBay rather cheap along with some spares.
A couple more Power Man Iron Fist issues were got but I need 3 in the middle of them before I start reading.
I've also bought the 10 issues of Uncanny X-Men I've never read - 400-409. Again cheap.
No Thing joy this week. Boo. 4 to go still
I suspect the next challenge might be some 290s Hulk.

Ah. Sorry, Phil. It went completely out of my head. I will remember at some point!
Jocasta, you say? So what does she actually do except lie in bits? That's the only state I've ever seen her in except for in Machine Man 2020 where she was an elderly Sunset Bain's butler or something.
